The Democratic Party needs to do a much better job of convincing small and medium business

that big corporations which are run like monopolies, and the republicans are NOT their friends. Small biz and medium biz are lulled into thinking that republicans and big corps are on their side with regard to taxation, building their business with credit, regulation, etc. This is NOT the case. Large corporations are selling them LIES and the democratic party needs to call them out on it, every single day until it is widely known! These corporations will do anything including lying, cheating and stealing for Jesus in order to expand their power and influence in the markets. Wall Street is helping them do this which is why they get a free ride.

Tell your friends who own their businesses to stop believing the HYPE--there is NO TRICKLE DOWN FROM THE CORPORATS, PERIOD. The only way to fight them is to band together in great numbers and push them out into the sunlight so the rest of the US can see them for the rats that they are.

While you're at it, make Mom and Pop run enterprises pay union scale.

2. Poor businessmen? Part of the problem is small businesses are saddled with the same regulations

and taxes as large corporations. In fact, we probably have to pay more in taxes since we're not General Electric.

As a small business owner, I KNOW how much work goes into going quarterlies, how much money goes into various taxes and how expensive it is to have health and fire inspectors come and constantly tell you to do this and that as the codes get upgraded.

Meanwhile, large corporations either shirk regulations or pay the fines as part of business. They have lawyers and accountants on staff to do the paperwork and bookkeeping and figuring out how to get out of paying any taxes at all.

So when it comes to small business owners, the notion that government regulations etc are a pain in the ass THEY HAVE A POINT.

And after being on DU for years, I can say absolutely that so-called liberal progressives do not support or care for small family business owners as much as they think they do.

It's safe for Miss Kitty to knock the democrat parties attitude towards business. She's a long time DUmmy.

3. Yet you make the point that larger corporations get away with murder.

I think there is a good comparison the way tax law and codes favor larger corporations just how rich people aren't taxed highly enough on their investments because they are expected to create magical jobs from their butts.

I say, raise taxes and regulations on the big guys and ease these burdens on smaller and medium businesses that actually care about their employees.

9. Small business owners are receptive to the anti-regulatory messages the Republicans peddle

And their anti-tax crap because they have to put up with so much grief. It's not that they are stupid or bad businessmen.

5. I do not see the Corporate-owned Democratic Party making any statements like this in the near future

Not going to happen until we the people figure out how to fight Citizens United.

Not even then. The democrat party looks at all businesses as cash cows.

8. Here's the problem:

Small business owners that support republicans never think they will be small businesses forever. They think they will be big corporations someday. Just like idiot republican voters who aren't millionaires now, but want low taxes on millionaires because they will be millionaires someday.

No point in trying to reach these clowns. Better to focus on Independent voters.

What this has to do with business is beyond me.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

ABC News reported tonight that GE paid 0, zero, not a damn dime in taxes to the US last year.....and their CEO heads up some business panel for Obama..... :lmao:

Democrats don't pay taxes.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

High fuel prices, taxes, and regulation costs put a huge burden on small and medium businesses.  I don't see Democrats doing anything about those either.

The democrat party members do all they can to stop small business from becoming solvent. They do all they can to make solvent small companies from becoming medium ones. The work really hard so medium companies won't become big ones.

Kalifornia estimates that their regulations and complying with them and tax recording costs business 35%. That's a big chink for a partner that does nothing to help you ship product out the back door.  In fact, they do everything possible to makes sure you don't ship product out the back door. For lurking DUmbats, that is why business flees liberal states to more conservative states and countries.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
