He's a "tea party" candidate running as a Libertarian.  I didn't notice that at first, had thought he was challenging the incumbent (R)  in a primary, not third party :(   This is not good news, since they'll split the GOP vote, and a Dem could win. 

I thought this would be a good district to watch, since it will test the tea party movement in a heavy Republican district, but I don't want them to lose a seat !   Ack.

I don't know if it's a bad thing or not. If some conservative third party candidates actually draw more votes that the GOP candidate, then maybe the GOP might get serious about getting back to their conservative roots.

Definitely agree here.  The Steve Schmidt-types would be on the sidelines, where they belong.
