Title: I bought two loaves of gluten free bread. $8.99 EACH!
Post by: Mr Mannn on February 21, 2017, 05:49:10 PM
10% carbs.  It does taste like bread, kinda. it thicker and dryer. smaller than my regular sandwich bread. and it takes twice as long to toast.

i needed a snack and didn't have anything ready made. so i toasted up two slices and melted shredded cheese on them.  not bad.

the only real down side is the cost.

Bread is a great treat, as is all other starch food.

Not the healthiest, but still very tasty.

Do you have a glutton allergy?

no. The doctors think I have Diabetes. I'm not so sure, and i will go for a 2nd opinion. in the mean time, it is a good excuse to change my diet.

I've learned one thing from all of this: eating healthy is expensive!

Not really.  If you focus on quality ingredients and buy in bulk, eating healthy is actually quite inexpensive.

If you cook, eating healthy is not expensive. It does take a little more time. Stay away from pre packaged crap, learn how to make it yourself. Stay away from added sugars and starches. I get grain fed/organic beef when is at a reduced price. Buy as much as I have room for in the freezer.
I don't like the field raised chicken, worse then the chicken served at lunch meetings!

Unless you have an allergy to glutton, glutton free food will do nothing for you. Just a way for companies to sell more stuff.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 8 years ago. It takes some adjustments but once you get in to habits of when and what to eat it's fairly easy to manage your blood sugar. If you exercise and drop some weight then you can reverse the processes that cause type 2.
