This is a general note to everyone - what happened today was an unspeakable tragedy that has left us all with a lot of unanswered questions. As this story develops, please continue to post in this thread. This section is for Breaking News and I will NOT tolerate anyone stepping on the memories of the fallen. Do not let this devolve into something petty and bitter. Take it to the Fight Club.

I personally don't have the words right now to describe the emotions I'm feeling. This is horrible and I cannot believe it's happened. My heart and prayers go out to all of the loved ones affected by this.

All of that being said, we will be strictly enforcing the rules about discussing our military per our Terms. Make yourself familiar with them if you don't remember.

I alerted him about this thread. Salaam isn't one of those radical Muslims like the one that committed the heinous crimes today. I like and respect him even though we don't always see eye to eye.

It is so sad and hard to see that this is going on I have been trying to explain to my kids does not usually happen on military posts or bases this was a random act of evil.

That said as an American Muslim who like hundreds of thousands of other American Muslims who serve and have served in America’s armed forces and kept their oaths to God, Country, and in my case Corps, condemn these actions and pray for the victims of this madman.

May God give the families strength and be quick in His reckoning.  If it turns out it was indeed this Major and the  media in error claims he was a Muslim, know that no true believer in Islam considers him part of the fold.  My prayers go out to the victims and their families, our nation, and our men and women in uniform.

Today is proof of that.  14 lives could have been saved today had someone had backbone enough to open a damn case file on this  :censored:

I had to explain to them it usually did not happen because their dad lives in Texas and my youngest is worried about daddy getting shot. I am at a loss for words on how to explain it to them I don't want to put more fear into their lives than needed right now
