Mods, please move if you see fit. I wanted to post where people would see it, rather than a secondary board.
For those of you that knew Crockspot, I thought I would let you know he passed away. I have been wondering how he was, I don't recall seeing anything posted from him since Christmas time. Since he was my friend on Facebook, I looked at his profile tonight, according to his brother, he was found on 1/8, at home, several weeks after his heart attack. Maggie, his dog is being taken care of by a neighbor at the moment.
Crockspot, rest in peace just doesn't seem enough. I hope your heart doesn't hurt anymore.
-
Oh dear God - that makes me want to cry. Beyond seeming like a really good guy, his posts always made me laugh.
Thanks for the info Tots. I'm so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for his family and friends.
-
Oh no!!! I had no idea he passed. Godspeed indeed dear friend.

Just had word of this.
He was a great guy, one of the best of people who contributed to both of our sites. We will all miss him.
Requiescat in pace.
-
I also just heard of his death. Rest in peace. How sad to die alone. He was a good guy and always liked him. I guess this shows that we never know about life. 51 was way too young.
-
I had no idea he was even ill.
Crock ... you'll be missed amigo.

I liked him for that. He was quite a fixture at CU and CC. He made me laugh too.
I wonder if he had any health problems prior to his death?

Joseph was cool as hell and had the dream job. Load master of airlines. Some of you probably had him on FB as I did. Sadly, I only have a few of my friends on my wall so I didn't know.

Until our next meeting, Crock.

Reb, do you know what happened to servonaut? This just makes me so sad.
Someone on FB said,
"Word is a heart attack on a golf course. I can't believe we're all old enough for such things. I take for granted that we're all as young as when we graduated. RIP Joseph."
Don't know if it's true or not.
-
This just sucks.
-
I just opened my emails from yesterday afternoon, to learn from Thundley...about Crockspot, now reading this thread, Servonaut too.
Such sad news... :(
I can't say anymore than what has already been said.
Here's to two very nice men....
Hope they hook up with Slam, all are now pain-free and I hope they having a couple of beers, telling jokes and stories.
God Bless them and their families....

God bless Servonaut.
I have only been here a little over a year, so I don't have the history that many of you had with both of these gentlemen. Anytime I saw Crockspot in a thread, I knew I was in for a laugh.
Both of them will be missed. Prayers for both of their families.
-
Wow. Servonaut, too.
I wonder who the third will be? :???: :o

Only acquainted on the web? You, Beg, and Dixie need to know that if you're ever left alone, me now being single, all three of you have dibs on me. :-)

I was PMd by someone who let me know that the crockspot's user on YT favorited a video of mine that I posted to YT November 2009. Admittedly, it's a cheesy video... this individual let me know that it was the only video that crockspot had favorited.
I went to the YT link and it sends chills through me seeing that both crock and servo had posted comments. All the other people who posted were family members.

God love them both, I am surely going to miss them.

We were thinking along the same lines. I went to the doc for the first time in 5 years a couple of weeks ago. I ain't going back. I was fine until they did all those tests. Now I ain't so fine. Should never have gone.
I'll either get it all worked out or I won't.

Wow, what horrible news. RIP to both. I knew Crock hadn't been well, but thought I had heard or read that he was doing all right more recently. What a shame and sad loss. Prayers to both families.

Oh dear, how awful. Rest in peace, Crockspot and Servo. I remember I'd poke fun at Crock for living amongst the moonbats in Vermont. Go with God, friends.

I don't get into GD much so I wasn't even aware of this until I saw a reference to it today in a Dumpster post. A terrible loss. I always like Crock and so enjoyed his humor. He will be sorely missed.
Rest easy in the arms of the Lord, old friend.

Hey, at least she will shut up about this now, and spend more time singing.
What kind of country keeps a traitor in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, denies him a New York Times, and does not allow him to surf the internet? I weep for my nation.
It's fine! Make hamburger sushi!

Best thing I can suggest is get music to a song you know frontwards and backwards and go along with the notes and the voice. Do that a coupla hundred times, and you'll be surprised how easy it really is! yuck, yuck, yuck!

Why do you think I'm in a choir? All the other tenors know how to read music, so the first time through, I listen. The next time through, I blend.

Well, depending on your voice range, you're going to be written in one of two clefs. That's where the A, B, C, D, E, F, G thingies come from. And their associated sharps and flats.
Then there's rhythm. Music is divided up to represent time by assigning a time signature. That's what determines the basic unit of measurement. Have a bunch of things called "measures" or "bars" lined up, each one filled up with either notes or rests and you're almost there.
Add a key signature, which automatically assigns flats or sharps to specific notes, and you're done!
See how easy that was?
:whistling:
:rotf:

that ain't readin' music - that's readin' guitar tabs.
Two different things.

Heh! I read both, but when it gets farther up the neck, I prefer the tabs! It ain't like a piano where you're taught the repetition in scales. It can get to be a real pain in the ass, especially with guys like Jimmy Page tunin' to another key!
-
RIP. I remember both from when I first joined last year.
-
I don't drop in this section very often so I'm just learning of this. I'm sad to hear it. I enjoyed reading posts from both crock and Servo. RIP to both and prayers to their families.
-
I haven't been around much lately, so OMG...RIP buddy.What a shocker.
-
Found this thread a while ago but didn't feel it was appropriate to post since I never really knew Crockspot. Anyways, I read one of his posts today and was reminded of what a bright, sharp, intelligent guy he was. I only knew you through the message board board but I loved what you wrote and looked forward to seeing your posts. RIP brother.
-
Even though this is a very old thread, I remember Crockspot from CU and share the good thoughts/memories that the rest of you have. I always enjoyed his posts and no one else has had a hair-do like that in years. If I remember correctly, he even dropped by RO for a short while.
In one of my occassional passes by CU in 2011, I became aware of his death. For the record, I will say it here at the Cave as well.
RIP Crockspot.
