Apparently the Dems are going to bring it up in the new year. Then they'll want to change it back when the GOP takes a majority. There are clips out there of DemonRats saying how important the filibuster is, but they are from the times when they were in the minority.
The thing is, if the Dems take the fillibuster away, then lose the majority, then try to re-establish it, the Republicans will just toss it when they get in, and President Barbour or President Palin will just have to get a simple majority of Senators to agree with their legislation. The Law Of Unintended Consequences will strike. Plus, the Republican majority in the House would never pass something that the Dem Senate would try to choke through, if they toss the fillibuster. Maybe the incoming House Majority Leader needs to make this known to dingy Harry Reid.
