kentuck (105,505 posts)Will Justice Be Done?First of all, this is not a criticism of Merrick Garland. This is about who is left to save our democracy? Our Founders created three branches of government, all with the balance of power. In my opinion, two of the branches, the Executive and the Legislative, have been corrupted by power and money and are on life support. They are barely hanging on.In their wisdom, they did not put the Department of Justice, or the Attorney General, under the Judicial Branch, although they work the process of justice through the Judicial Branch.Again, in my opinion, we have reached a point where our system can only be saved by our Justice System and the Judicial Branch. The weight of responsibility has been laid on the shoulders of our Department of Justice. They have been put into a predicament where there can be no quick or spontaneous decisions, as much as many have been demanding it. Merrick Garland is a cautious and wise man but the time is near, when the nation calls for courage and decisiveness. Corrupt and criminal politicians must be held to account. We cannot sugarcoat the attack upon our Capitol by a mob of hoodlums, along with a brain-washed cult of the former president. There is no way to whitewash it or to cover it up. It must be confronted. To neglect the rule of law at this time would only quicken the demise of our democracy. The job must be methodical and just, but it must be done.https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216774819
There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Since the DUmp in general and kentuck in particular define justice as "us getting our way, law and logic be damned" I hope not.
