Did anyone watch "The Longest Day" yesterday?

I think it was on TCM.

I didn't remember that it was shot in black and white. But it was perfect. Each segment was fascinating and all of the big Hollywood stars in it were just terrific in their roles. My favorite: Henry Fonda playing the son of TR, wanting to participate fully in the invasion plans, and not be held back out of concerns for his safety. But all of the actors were great and it was a strong reminder of what sacrifices war asks us, as a country, to accept.

It was the perfect reminder of what is necessary to do to preserve freedom.

You all of a sudden love freedom and the military?  :whatever:

This is the old, dried up kook primitive who spies on her neighbor. Neither her political ideology nor her neighbor snooping is American, but try explaining that to her and she’ll never get it.

.
Because third world peasant labor is a good thing.
