Who's Sorry Now?

I can't help wondering how many Republicans haven't had a decent night's sleep in months, especially since the J-6 hearings began.

Is tomorrow the day my name comes up? Who are these witnesses coming forward with information - and are they talking about me? If so, what are they saying?

The stress must be overwhelming - along with the regrets.

Why did I let myself get caught-up in this shit-storm? Why didn't I just keep my head down, and stay out of it? Why did I risk my political career, and perhaps a prison sentence, to be a 'player', 'one of the guys'?

And then there's the biggest question of all:

How did I not know that any plot concocted by a failed businessman, lying narcissist, fake billionaire, corrupt, orange-faced buffoon like Donald Trump was going to fail spectacularly?

It's not like the writing wasn't on the wall, folks.

While Trump may be the dumbest schemer in the GOP, it's not like he didn't have competition for the title.

I live hundreds of miles from D.C. - but I can smell the flop-sweat from here.

When I saw the title "Who's sorry now?", I thought this was going to be another thread about Ginsburg not retiring, or people not voting for Clinton.

(edit to add) BTW, although I tried just about everything, um... "pharmaceutical" that crossed my path, my
experiences as an Army medic convinced me that the horrible problems associated with needle use (and this
was pre-AIDs, even) meant that I was never ever going to try it -- not once (and I stuck to that).

For the same reasons, I never ever had a drop of a cheap "fortified wine".

Wow, that was a lot of jam-packed stupid. Does Drunken Aunt Nance realize that 99% of the public doesn't give a whit about this sham January 6th made for TV series/hearings? It reminds me a bit of the NFL draft fanatics (or "draft-niks") who are constantly obsessed with something incredibly insignificant. Rehashing January 6th, which was a rotten day that a bunch of yahoos got out of control, doesn't solve inflation, crime, gas prices, baby formula shortages, tampon shortages, porous border, or the 1000 things Americans care about more than January 6th.
