We don't serve anything with it, it's a one-dish meal....meat and vegetable.
Strange most first generation Polish meals had on the side, Beets, turnips, onions and any ingrown vegetables they could. White and yellow potatoes, these meals were for late winter to use up what they had in the root cellar.
They had their hams, all corn fed that today are hard to find, smoked pork and beef, fish and some fantastic kinds or relish that is nowhere to be found today.
My deceased father in law would cook up some really wonderful dishes learned from his family that came here from Poland. One was a chicken soup served over boiled potatoes, he and wife had been lucky to come here before WW2.
