911? Right. "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away" has never been truer than it is today, as the legions of 911 horror stories attest.
I live on the outskirts of a small town. On 3 separate occasions, there have been traffic accidents along the road that borders my property. All 3 times the police were called, the best response time was 15 minutes.
All of the police headquarters (state, county, local) are less than 5 miles from my house, one less than 3.
I won't dial "911" if someone is on my property or in my house uninvited. I'll dial "9mm" first, "911" after the smoke clears. Protecting myself, my family, and my property is MY responsibility, not the police's, not the politicians', and for DAMN SURE, not some drug swilling, semi-literate, pseudo-educated, brain dead DUmmie, who wouldn't know how to pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written on the heal!
