DUmmies discuss Gingrich / Gregory on MTP
« on: September 02, 2012, 08:57:10 PM »
This is a double DUty DU thread.  Cali starts out with today's MTP.  Newt basically points out a turd in the DNC punch bowl but Cali seems to miss this point.  The second part shows how DU worships pseudo News Program (which I have never seen, I don't have HBO).

Feel the love for David Gregory boo hoo sucks to be you.

David Gregory's "Meet The Press" was just awesome today. The panel was terrific and well balanced

14. Have you been watching News Room

It may be a coincidence but after News Room started taking a laser scaple to broadcast news;

1) Chris Matthews became bolder, much like the leading charachter

2) Juan Williams called out the Romney campaign for its use of the race card on FOX

3) Meet the Press was transformed into a thoughtful fact driven discussion

The other thing that HBO did was produce and run Game Changer that showed specifically how MSNBC was having a greater impact on the McCain campaign than all of the rest of the stations combined.

At one point the adviser yells out "How do we get McCain to stop watching MSNBC?"

So to answer your question they revolutionize it by holding a mirror up to it.

16. Never heard of it. If it's on HBO, most of the country doesn't get HBO. Incl. me.

I quit paying for premium channels years ago.

19. Oh, no. That's not what I meant. I'm sure the media watches it.

But people who buy or get things sometimes forget that others do not. Most people don't buy HBO, but my friends who do are always asking if I saw this or that...they forget that HBO is not a normal station for people to get. It's a special thing.

I used to pay for HBO years ago. I loved it. But my cable/satellite just got too expensive. I ended up dropping all premiums. I miss HBO. But I don't wan't to pay...I think it's $156/year, plus tax. That's a lot of movies I can go to (and do).

20. It has nothing to do with the rest of the country

It is obviously having on the impact that it is portraying, cable news.

If you are interested in its impact you may want to look at some of these threads

Google DU News Room and it has 25 pages of threads, it is a major event.

27. I honestly believe News Room has made a significant impact.

Cable News is huge.....I rarely watch free news...or what ever it is called....

I think News Room is setting the news media bar higher than it has been in 15 years. After watching the program, the viewing public gains an expectation of accurate new reporting and getting the facts processed.

He's the worst host they could have on MTP. Today he just sat there and let Newt repeat the infanticide lie about Obama.

- Newt Gingrich - RW idiot and liar extraordinaire

- Tom Brokaw - king of the false equivalency. "Both shidez do it."

- Thomas Freidman - name something that's ridiculous. I'll write a book saying it's not ridiculous, and people will marvel at my insight.

- Carly Fiorina - RW hack. I thought she was touring with Spinal Tap.

- Doris Kearns Goodwin (historian) - meek go-along-to-get-along so the plagerism thingee doesn't come up again

10. I changed the channel

I had it on MSNBC for 'background noise' and then suddenly I kept hearing all kind of GOP talking points and lots of crap and I was like WTF? and I changed the channel. It was very unbalanced. It's like MSNBC is 'allowed' to have their weeknights so long as the rest of the time they 'catapult the propaganda' for the GOP.

13. Newt stated the oft repeated meme that Biden was speaking to a black audience...

when he made the chains comment.

All the other panelists, and Gregory, were silent and let him get away with that. Are they afraid of Newt?

I tweeted a short: Newt says Biden was in front of audience of blacks. But the audience was MIXED.

I doubt anyone read it, but I tweeted, anyway. Why don't people "in the know" KNOW and SAY anything?

15. It's a fine balance - between telling the truth and not

Gingrich and Fiorina are professional liars. Brokaw and Kearns Goodwin have jobs in which they're meant to communicate the truth. And Friedman doesn't care whether anything he says has any relation to reality, as long as it sells his books and the gullible praise him for 'insight'.

Think of it like the riddle with the man who always lies, and the one who always tells the truth. You can figure out what is true if you ask one side what the other would say, and then take that as a lie. Just ignore Friedman completely (which is always a good idea).

30. This was a very bad MTP segment today

You'd think this was the Newt Gingrich Show. I can't believe he is a guest speaker on every network. I'm really getting annoyed with his rhetoric like he is the only one that knows the answer to everything. Everyone can see that Newt just likes to hear himself talk and I'm quite frankly tired of hearing his voice.

As far as Carly Fiorina, she was fired as the CEO at HP because she couldn't run a big company, then tried to run for the Republican Senate in CA and lost. So now, she's trying her hand in media as a FOX business commentator.

This was the most one-sided commentary with journalists who couldn't facilitate the running mouths, tippy toeing around every word so they wouldn't "offend" the guest speakers.

It was disappointing at the very least....

Poor David. He managed to take a successful show and turn it into a something even the biggest DUmmie won't watch anymore.

It should be renamed to "Meet the Democrat Party Bullet Points."

Newt eviscerated Tom Freidman. I thought Tommy boy was going to cry after admitting that he is a pro-infanticide democrat (aren't they all though?).

Here's what's got them upset:

DAVID GREGORY: Understanding, Mr. Speaker, the difference between Todd Akin talking about rape versus the abortion plank in the platform, I understand there is that distinction. Nevertheless, the question, social issues versus economic issues as being a big motivator for women, is a question.

GINGRICH: Let me just take a second to disagree with Carly, I think Todd Akin was the choice of the people in Missouri, and Todd Akin has publicly apologized. And I think that the last poll show he’s beating the Democratic Senator. I think that we ought to go on from that, Karl Rove said some terrible things on Friday for which he has apologized which should remind us, people make mistakes. Vice President of the United States-

GREGORY: He was joking about if he shows up and murdered someone.

GINGRICH: No. In the age of Gabby Giffords, it is not a joke to say that a Member of Congress ought to get murdered. And I’m frankly, fed up, with the one-sided bias, okay. Let me give you two examples. Vice President of the United States goes to a black audience and says if the Republicans win you will be in chains. Now, where is the -- how can Biden remain as Vice President? Where is the outrage over overt, deliberate racism? And we talk about people saying things they ought to get off tickets. How come Biden shouldn’t get off the ticket? Second example, the Democratic Party plank on abortion is the most extreme plank in the United States. The President of United States voted three times to protect the right of doctors to kill babies who came out of abortion still alive. That plank says tax-paid abortion at any moment, meaning partial birth abortion, that’s a 20 percent issue. The vast majority of women do not believe the taxpayers should pay to abort a child in the eighth or ninth month. Now why isn’t it shocking that the Democrats on the social issue of abortion have taken the most extreme position in this country and they couldn’t defend that position for a day if it was made clear and as vivid as all the effort is made to paint Republicans?

Lets see here, a very liberal MSM isn't leftist enough for the DUmmies and if there is one white person in a black gathering, it's a MIXED crowd and if there is one black person less than half at a supposedly white gathering, then it's not a MIXED crowd.

Damn my head hurts.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I continually find this to be funny.  During the first 2 years of Dear Leader we had:

WH - Dem

Senate - 57 Dems
               2 Independents (caucused w/ Dems)
             41 Republicans

House - 255 Dems
            179 Republicans

And yet, if you ask the primitives, the Republicans controlled Congress.  Some even go as far as to claim the R's ran the whole gov't.

Now if the numbers were reversed, would the primitives say the Dems controlled Congress?  No.

Ask them and you get into this "Senate not veto proof," R's vote in lockstep," etc... nonsense.  This is one of the most obvious issues in which to point out their hypocracy and mental disorder.

The democrat party relies on people being very stupid and easily manipulated. They are the party of the mentally challenged and gullible.
