A Message from RimJob: Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!

Notice: FR is and will remain a pro-life, small government conservative site.
April 10, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 3:29:15 PM by Jim Robinson

To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite
RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.

We are the resistance!!

Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!

I can see November from my house!!

For those who sometimes become confused between DU and FR threads, this one is from DU(H)

It's very sad, the deterioration in freerepublic.

freerepublic used to be a fun place to hang around, full of all sorts of positive, energetic people.

One has to respect freerepublic as the ground-breaker, the first, the founder, of all that has flourished and thrived on the internet giving voice to those many who've been excluded from the mainstream media, the newspaper columns, the halls of academia, Hollywood, exclusively liberal dominions.

freerepublic started it all, and one salutes and honors freerepublic for that.

But the past three or four years, the place became dominated by grouches.

Probably the wrong people were driven away.

If any of that is true for FR, it's doubly true for DU.  Try supporting a third party nominee on DU in the general.  I don't care what JimRob thinks (and I have the utmost respect for him running what at one time was the premier conservative forum on the Internet), but if Mitt Romney is the nominee, he can count on my vote in November.

For whatever reason, ol' JimRob seems to have lost it. Thank goodness he represents only a microscopic fringe.

FR has become similar to the DUmp. Nearly all the nuts cheering and egging JimRob on are moles, mirror images of the ones at the DUmp who fire up the moonbat nutcases there.

My first choice back in 1980 was the senior George Bush; not that I had anything against Ronald Reagan, but because I wasn't aware how awesome Reagan would turn out to be.

Jimmy Carter had to go, and by voting for Reagan that November, I helped make him go.

My first choice back in 1988 was Robert Dole; not that I had anything against George Bush, but because I thought it was high time Dole got the nomination.

Michael Dukakis had to be kept out of the White House, and by voting for Bush that November, I helped keep him out.

My first choice back in 2000 was Richard Cheney; not that I had anything against the younger George Bush, but because I wasn't aware of how awesome Bush would turn out to be.

Alphonse Capote Gore had to be kept out of the White House, and by voting for Bush that November, I helped keep him out.

My first choice back in 2008 was Duncan Hunter; not that I had anything against John McCain, but simply because I thought Hunter would make a stronger candidate.

The Magic One had to be kept out of the White House, but alas given that Democrats in blue states and blue cities can cast multiple votes with impunity, my one vote for McCain wasn't enough to stop him.

My first choice earlier this year was John Boehner; not that I had anything against any of the other Republican candidates, but simply because I think Boehner would be a winner, and an excellent president.

The Magic One has to be expelled from the White House, and perhaps this time my vote for Romney will help that happen.

Since JimRob is conducting a mass zotting, purging FR of Republicans, a lot of them will probably show up here.

JimRob is doing to FR what the contemptible gator did to CU.

Soon FR will consist of crazy JimRob and a bunch of democrats trolling each other.

I used to post exclusively at FR, until I came over to CC, thanks to frank posting his (in)famous Alert! banners over there about the primitives on Skin's Island.

I think I've posted maybe 20 times there in the 3 years I've been here.  The clincher for me was having a moderator jump my ass over a tagline I had been using for 18 months!

"I've tried to see the liberal point of view, but I couldn't get my head up my ass!"

He found "ass" offensive, I guess.   :hammer:

I'll just keep spilunking here, thank you!

Found it interesting that coach was a Duncan Hunter fan, too.
When he dropped out that year, it was too late to pull his name off the ballot during the primary.
He still ended up with a lot of votes, mine included.
This year, I preferred Herman Cain.  Sorry to see him get railroaded by BS accusations.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I just could no longer deal with the freepers who's only purpose in life is to thwart "blog pimps" like it was some high crime. Nobody else gave a damn, and I would often hit the blogs anyway just to spite the self appointed hall monitors.

That's why I left, after having read freerepublic almost since its inception in 1998.

For years, I had "blog pimped" on freerepublic--freerepublic after all has a special forum for blog pimping, which I used--with nary a complaint from anyone, until near the end.

I assumed the blog forum on freerepublic was a public service, so as to help get the various conservative and moderate viewpoints out, since the mainstream media ignores them.  conservativecave has a forum for blog pimps too, but conservativecave being pretty small doesn't offer the exposure freerepublic does.

Also, I had assumed I was doing readers of freerepublic a favor by posting only excerpts from pieces, which they could check out at the original sites if they so chose.  I mean, come on, some of my stuff is pretty long, two in particular surely book-length.

I dunno how long it's been--in July 2011, I think--that I left freerepublic, after suddenly out of the blue getting nasty comments from grouches about "blog pimping" (even though such were posted in the blog pimping forum).  The last straw was when I posted an except of a most-excellent piece from TVDOC here, after which I went back no more.

If freerepublic didn't want blog pimps, freerepublic wouldn't have a blogging forum.

I suppose some of the grouches there might have assumed one takes away readers from freepublic by guiding them to different sites, which is bullshit.  I've always read various sites, and reading those sites didn't steer me away from reading freerepublic.  In fact, it probably increased my reading and appreciation of freerepublic.

I should've seen it coming, when some months before, some hysterical lady there posted a long vanity rant about how she hated, hated, hated, hated, hated bloggers on freerepublic.  I was astounded by the ferocity and vigor of how much she hated, as if bypassing blogger articles presented a Great Burden, a Great Nuisance, a Great Inconvenience, a Great Bother, to her.

And the chorus of grouches singing approval was large.

I thought wow, what's wrong with these people?

Jim Robinson can take great and justifiable pride in that freerepublic was the first, the biggest, in getting the conservative and moderate viewpoints out there in public, and for that one must salute and respect him, but it's all very different now.
