U.S. Space Force unveils .... wait for it ... official camouflage uniforms!!
Am I missing something here? How does this camouflage idea work in outer space?
The US Space Force has defended its newly unveiled camouflage uniforms after they were roundly mocked on social media.
The force, officially launched by US President Donald Trump last month, posted a picture of the uniform to its Twitter account.
The uniform in the picture has a woodland camouflage design with badges embroidered on the arm and chest.
Reacting to the uniform, many critics had the same question: "Camo in space?"

DoD decides on camo space force uniforms because... there's shrubbery in space?

A couple of threads where the primitives think that astronauts are going to be rocketing into outer space wearing BDUs.

Its the standard Army pattern combat uniform...
:whatever:

I've been a bit out of the loop since my Army discharge 21 years ago, but at that time the Air Force wore the same camo (woodland, then) as the Army. I used to chuckle a bit that it would have really helped my Air Force Dad sneak around a concrete ramp full of airplanes, but understood that it made sense budgetarily to have the same work clothes across a couple of services. (I understand Marine Utilities were also the same woodland camo.)
Never occurred to me to outright ridicule them...
Though I wondered whether the Space Force would go to something like the blue jumpsuits I've seen astronauts wear.

Yeah, I'm going to guess that the Space Force doesn't have many actual space crew members yet, and that ultimately, the number of space crew members will be dwarfed by the number of support/logistics people. Duh.
This reminds me of a meme spread by gun control advocates a while ago. The gist of it was the usual red herring that gun owners can't defeat the military. The picture they chose to illustrate this point? An F-22, dropping a bunch of flares.

A well motivated populace can defeat a superior military. See Vietnam, revolutionary war, Soviets in Afghanistan, communist overthrow of russia
