4. Black person sighted. That is all. nt
Was watching NBC News last night. Camera panned the crowd sort of up close, maybe a dozen people in the frame. First shot there was a large, very black guy front and center...so they swung the camera...ooops...black woman in the background...swing again... finally all white so that's where they kept the camera focused.
Then sometime or other they ran an ad for the evening news, "We dig a little deeper". I thought to myself, "Oh how true. Y'all never dig more than a "little" deeper. Wouldn't want to find something you don't like."
I haven't watched a national political convention since the hate-filled Democrat one of 1992, but in 1984, during both conventions, Dan Rather and CBS News featured "factoids," text in little rectangular boxes that suddenly appeared in the center of the screen.
There was maybe half a sentence in each "factoid," and the viewer of average discernment could manage to read each one maybe two times. Myself being a faster reader, four times, in between blinking the eyes.
During the Democrat convention that year, there suddenly appeared a "factoid" showing the average income of Democrat delegates as compared with the average income of Republican delegates, and the average of the former was a couple of steps higher than the average of the latter.
I read it, blinked my eyes, and pfft! it was gone.
In one's imagination, one could see Dan Rather hollering at the CBS technical crew, "Hey! Get that down, and now! It makes us look bad, that we're richer than the evil Republicans!"
