When hurricane Hugo hit here in '89 someone did some research and discovered that one had hit here, way inland, in 1780 something that was stronger and did even more damage.
So, on the national TV news tonight I saw where California had some temps of just a little over 100. We've had temps over 100 but I don't remember it ever making the national news......and drought, we're 7" under normal...whoop-2-doo....1954 and 1980 was much worse but I guess they don't deserve mentioning because that was during the 'ice age'.
