HOSPITALS around the country are struggling to cope, with patients forced to wait for hours in corridors and a $115 million spent on a computer system that assigns treatments to the wrong patient.

QUEENSLAND Health has been forced to undertake urgent repairs at Thursday Island Hospital after a report revealed the facility's dilapidated state was putting patients and workers at risk.
Cook MP Jason O'Brien will this week seek an emergency meeting with Health Minister Geoff Wilson to discuss the hospital's problems.
The operating theatre was out of commission for two months after the ceiling almost gave way, patients were forced to ring bells for attention because the nurse call system no longer worked and the airconditioning system had failed.

It's amazing that people can see things like this and demand that the government have MORE to do with healthcare.
