Why Hanoi??
Was it recommended by Putin?
Vietnam veterans remember how close Hanoi was to Russia during the Vietnam war.
But, is Russia now an advisor to North Korea?
That seems to be the case.

I'm going to guess Hanoi is "neutral" ground mutually acceptable to Kim III and Trump. Also, Kim III got there using Chinese passenger rail - maybe less of a danger of assassination (or more reliable) than NoKo military or civilian transport.

Why didn't Kim just take one of AOC's magical trains across the ocean so they could have met somewhere tropical like Fiji?

Hanoi, and all of Vietnam, is a shining example of how a former enemy of the USA can transform itself into a thriving economy by embracing capitalism and the USA. President Trump and his advisers used this as a factor in determining the summit site. The fact that the NoKos probably don’t have any long-range transport aircraft in their Air Force also factors in.

So Trump could tell Richard Blumenthal that he actually spent time in Vietnam.
-
So Trump could come back with a $15 billion dollar order for Boeing?

The first thing that comes to mind with "Hanoi" is "Jane."
