Yes, Tulsa is getting buried. The last report I saw said 17", etc. so far in the Tulsa-metro with more on the way. All of Eastern OK is getting 16" + of snow with 20" localized as the heaviest.

Keep safe, Sparky -- from your description, it sounds like a rough few days for you.

And Hollywood, sorry for the snark -- can't stop myself sometimes.  All the ice/snow is tracking north of where I am; we're just going to get majorly soaked by rain.  It's nice to know someone worries though . . .  :blowkiss:

Meh--I'm too tired to panic at this point.

It's 41 miles door-to-work (Seabrook to Rochester).  I KNOW it's going to take at least two hours each way tomorrow, and if I have to be here at 6:30, that means leaving home by 4-4:30, and I'll get back home tomorrow night about 9.

Vacation can't get here fast enough.

They freaking snow teased us again today.  We were supposed to get 1/2" of ice and 3-7" of snow last night.  We got maybe 1/8" of ice and no snow.  Now it is raining.

Not much here to worry about that doesn't happen here every winter in the Omaha area. However my friend john and his family live near Chicago and they are going to get slammed hard tonight. Tomorrow though we are going to have -20 to -30 wind chills. Thats going to suck for work tomorrow.

We got off far luckier than the forecast. However, there's a nice sheet of ice on the roads. Anybody want to go ice skating ?? WE DIDN'T get the 3"-5" of snow on top of the ice that was forecast for here. I DID lose my internet for a while. I could get to the DNS server, but not beyond that. 2nd time within a month that this has happened. F'n Cable One and their lame "technicians"!!  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Ouch, Chris.

We're currently in the lull between the first 5" or so that's fallen from this one, and the next shot tomorrow.  I'm going to make very sure that my wife's car is topped off with gasoline, washer fluid, you name it--then I'm going to put it back in the garage we rent, where she got it out of this morning.  I'm also topping off my car with gasoline and windshield washer fluid.  Also thinking about getting some small snacky-type stuff for tomorrow, after I help the two (pretty, single, young) teachers dig their cars out.  :-)

One of them told me this morning, "Tonight looks like it'll be a good night to hunker down."  She's got that one right.

Pretty crappy here in DFW, didn't go into work today.  I have a 45 minute commute one way in good weather, and since we are using all of our sand and de-ice capabilities to help out the Super Bowl visitors (JOKE) I decided I wasn't going to drive in. Thought I would take the train, but the durn thing got closed, so I cleaned all my closets, ARC is dropping by and I now have 5 lawn and leaf bags full for them.  The road is starting to evaporate, which I am thankful for, as we are still below freezing.  Won't see 33 till Friday night.  I anticipate pipes busting somewhere, but not in my house.  I hope.  Pipes are insulated, water dripping, it is out of my hands now.

Saw some pretty messed up accidents from the TV, tho.

Just finished clearing the drive and walks. looks like about 7 inches for the first round. Forecast is for 3 more inches of mix tonight. Wife got called into work. She cooks at a retirement home on the weekends. None of the other girls could make it so she took the Ranger. Its been a real old fashioned winter! If my son brings back the roof rake all will be good. I sure could use the spring though.

Worked until about 11:30 a.m., then the plant manager decided to shut the place down. Maybe he didn't get the memo - I had my coat on and was walking out the door anyway.  :lmao:

I live maybe 5 minutes away from work. Today it took about 15. Probably about 8 inches on the ground (all of it since this morning) and when I got home, Mrs E had just used the snowblower to blast out a path for the car (she's a great gal - I think I'll keep her).

The shit is blowwwwwwin'. Probably about a foot on the ground now, with drifting much more than that in spots.

Gonna hunker down and ride it out as the plant is likely closed tomorrow too.

Installed a second hard drive in my computer, partitioned it, and did a backup because my current drive is acting sorta freaky (chkdsk removed a few bad sectors, it would appear) so it wasn't a complete catastrophe.

Now I gotta get my fat ass on the elliptical. And practice.

Life is good.

Thanks for the well-wishes, Hollywood. May the croc-gods smile upon you in the land of fish tacos and ditzyness.  :-)

Our car...love how the wind drifts the snow while leaving some areas nearly clean.

Evidently, our neighbor got stuck...it may look OK, but the edges of the road are still several inches deep.

We've had a snow plow through, now, so could dig to the path and leave if needed.  Just hoping it isn't needed!!!   :-)

Chris...you've realy been getting it...we're still getting mostly sprinkles. Wind still hasn't hit either, nor is the temp dropping. Still at 61. It seems to be "stuck" between you and I.

Have texted my brother in Chicago, to see how they are doing and haven't heard from him yet.  :(

Pretty much you name it county from just a bit above ours going south...school is closed. My senior in high school brother's school is notoriously known for never closing down. He just got a call from them saying they're not even attempting to go ahead tomorrow.

I just heard on the news that Oncor is doing 15 minute rolling blackouts here in DFW to save electric.  Apparently we are using too much.  I don't know how that will affect me as I have electricity through my city.  I don't "think" we purchase from Oncor.
