American Asshole of the Year

This thread is for reaching a CC consensus on who deserves the title "American Asshole of the Year". The person finally selected must be an American--which, by the way, is going to leave out his Supreme Assholishness in the White House, as I don't really believe he is an American.


The thread is open for nominations. I've given this some thought, and I'm just going to nominate one person--other posters can make multiple nominations. My nominee is:

Jon Stewart

This smarmy POS's offenses are too numerous to catologue, but this is an "of the Year" award, so it's the year's top outrages that he's committed  that I'm listing:

For his sanctimonious, ill-disguised ultraleft and really flat-out vomitous "Rally to Restore Sanity" rally, which he didn't think of doing when the Left was calling President Bush Hitler and openly advocating his death, and which he called only to mock other people's serious attendance of Glenn Beck's rally, and


for his compounding of the mockery of Christmas mockery in his loathsome "The War on Christmas that Almost Wasn't," a mockery of others' wholly justified and not at all over-the-top outrage at the hard left's extreme intolerance shown to Christians, every Christmas, in the true, real, and actually happening War on Christmas. Mockery of this kind works only if the thing your mocking ISN'T HAPPENING. This is really happening, it's a direct assault on the Free Exercise clause in the First Amendment to the Constitution, and, of course, it shows him once again to be the uber-hypocrite that he is, because anyone who pretends to want to "restore sanity" in America wouldn't be befouling the airwaves with trash designed only to provoke fury among so many of his countrymen. Stewart is a smarter version of marginalized Maher, and really 1000x as despicable.


Stewart is my nominee for American Asshole of the Year. Nominations are now open. We'll vote later. Wheover finally wins the uncoveted anti-crown of American Asshole of the Year will have his American citizenship nonbindingly revoked by the Conservative Cave, which no doubt the likes of such nomineees as are likely to appear in this thread willl consider an honor.

Nominations close by midnight, December 26, 2010, and the Award will be decided (by CC consensus) by Janurary 2, 2011.

Couple of obvious typos there. "Your" should be "you're" (a typo whose committing by people who known the diference in an ingrained way says some interesting things about what we believe we know about cerebellar-cerebral connections--I think it could be called "Typo Tourettes"). And January at the end.

Asshole or just a total puke?    Tough call, but every time I see him on the screen I just want to BS him.

Chuck and Barney definitely deserve a nomination.  I'm ambivalent about nominating Barry because he's looking more and more like an ignorant patsy.  He's definitely no Bill Clinton.  My nomination is Nancy Peloski.  After all, we have to pass the bill to find out what's in it...

I was almost swayed to Carter by that clip, but have to stick with Pelosi because she had more influence and airtime.  But, Carter was good.  Very good at being an a$$.

I want to return to the Carter nomination for AAHOTY (American Asshole of the Year) by pointing out that Carter, as a former president and supposedly a seasoned statesman, should know better in making the type of comments he makes.

His remarks and his efforts to interfere in diplomatic efforts that are waaaay outside of his purview and element completely transcend any other American's performance in pursuit of the AAHOTY award.

Pelosi is merely an political whore whose own narcissism has failed to give her a clue about her own overall impotence and failure - but that pales in comparison's to Jimmy's overwhelming sense of self-importance and ego for the simple fact that he's been doing it longer than she has.
