Title: New Shaggin Wagon
Post by: catsmtrods on August 18, 2013, 05:36:38 AM
This is going to be my new tent for my fishing adventures. Its a 1993 GMC vandura 2500 Jayco conversion with 36000 original miles. I picked it up for $4500. Getting to old and the wife is too ornery to set up the tent anymore! It was very well taken care of. The only distraction is the peeling clear coat on the Hy top. I think I will have it painted if I can afford it and try to keep it a classic custom.

Sounds like you got a good deal!

That sort of vehicle would be well-suited to camping and fishing trips here.  You could get to more remote spots in the mountains than those who drag a fifth wheel or other type camper behind.

Is it perchance modified to a 4x4?

I believe that the table comes down to span the distance between the seats, and the seat backs fill that space on the table top to make a bed.

"If this truck's rockin', don't come knockin'!!!"

That was the main reason I was so interested in this van. The 2 bench seats fold down into the largest most comfortable bed of any van I looked at. It fills the whole rear of the van. Most others have one bench seat that folds down into a lumpy small bed that would only be good for shaggin and not so good for sleeping.

I fixed up the sink today. I installed a 3 gal fresh water supply and 5 gal waste water tank. That way when I run out of fresh water I know its time to dump the waste water. This van will also be stocked with survival supply's as it has a converter so I can plug it in or use my generator to run everything. That being stereo, mp3, tv, dvd, refrigerator, microwave, ac and heat. When not on fishing trips its my bug out ride.

Wow, that is very nice!  And a very good deal you made.  So, the hy-top folds up so you can stand upright, right?  Wow, that's such a cool camping outfit.  What fun you'll both have.   :yahoo:

No it don't move. Its just a raised roof. I am 5"10" and can stand upright in the work area.
