GOP: the real American Communist Party

GOP: the real American Communist Party

A few days ago, someone posted a picture taken from Facebook of a guy with a pissed-off expression pointing a gun at the camera, and an obscenity-filled anti-liberal screed was under it.

This got me to thinking about how the Communists took power in Russia. They started by suppressing opposing viewpoints, then killed off every non-Communist they could find, and finally purged the ranks of their party to eliminate everyone who wasn't thought to be quite Communist enough.

Now look at our Republican party. They eliminated the Fairness Doctrine, then rich Republicans bought most of the media outlets and suppressed non-Republican viewpoints. They're working damn hard to keep Democrats from voting. And as for the internal purges, my paper has received several letters from well-regarded local Republicans telling people to "vote against the socialist wing of the GOP." Do I think the guy with the gun would actually shoot a liberal if he wouldn't get in trouble for it? No. He wouldn't stop at one. He wouldn't stop at liberals. And he's not the only one who would try it.

The difference between the CPSU and the GOP is private property: the CPSU eliminated private ownership of property. The GOP, who hates the government, doesn't want the Evil Government to own anything, but they're fine with huge corporations taking over all the real property in the US.

So much delusion and projection in one post.

2. What you've said is so true.

They try to insult liberals by using the title "Socialists" while they defend Dept of Defense religiously, the closest thing to a socialist program that we have in the US.

Um, no.  Defense is one of the few Constitutional objectives that the government does do.

4. Just a quibble...

The "communism" of the USSR was fascism with communist rhetoric. In the actual operations of the state, party, and its apparatuses, there was no distinctive difference from Marco, Mussolini, or Hitler (or for that matter, Suharto, Pahlavi, or Pinochet.)

Surprisingly enough, though,  the Communists and Socialist parties in the US tend to have more in common with DemonRats.

It's amazing how their thought processes (if you can call the firing of their collective 3 brain synapses "thought") work sometimes.

I am astounded that, being that stupid, they don't all wear bike helmets and velcro shoes.

Kind of ironic that the DUmmy claimed we want to suppress a viewpoint when they want to use the "Fairness Doctrine" to silence a viewpoint.

Ah, the ever so popular "dream victim". They SO want something this profound to happen to them...as long as it doesn't inconvenience them in any way. And, DUmmies, we may laugh at your stupidity or show you why you're wrong (never penetrates) but we never, ever say you or any other dem should be silenced. YOU, on the other hand, constantly talk about limiting speech...search your own site. You always think you have a "good" reason for wanting to limit JUST conservative speech, but it's a step towards communism nonetheless. What gives you that right and how does that differ from what you're trying to lay on us without one freaking ounce of proof?

Now look at our Republican party. They eliminated the Fairness Doctrine, then rich Republicans bought most of the media outlets and suppressed non-Republican viewpoints.

No, the fairness doctrine FORCES radio stations to air content. How does that promote freedom? And I recall plenty of rich democrats pouring money into Air America, over and over again, but it was money down the drain and after a while they decided to no longer waste their money. They were on plenty of stations, including some major markets. No one wanted to listen to them. So even if you had your precious legislation that forces businesses to air your bullshit, people would still turn it off or change the dial, just as they did with Air America.

No, just the dead ones, the illegal ones and the Disney characters. And what the hell is wrong with writing a letter to editor telling people to vote against the "socialist wing of the GOP" (also referred to as Establishment Republicans). I know it's another example of that whole inconvenient free speech thing. Besides, what's preventing you from writing a letter to the editor encouraging people to vote for liberal Republicans? Or vote against the Tea Party or whatever? The 1st Amendment guarantees rich, poor, young, old, left, right, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, you and I, the right to express our opinions publicly. I'm not sure what the hell this has to do with anything.

Too stupid to even respond to. But, I will say, if you want to prevent yourself from being a victim (a foreign concept, I know), practice your own 2nd Amendment right and buy yourself a gun.

And giving everything to the government protects our freedom how? Whoever said we're fine with corporations taking over all real property? Got it, it's just part of your hysterical hyperbole.

I don't know anyone on the right sitting around saying to themselves, "Gee, I sure wish some big corporation would come take my property. I'm damn tired of owning this house, working in my garden, decorating and remodeling it."

I've yet to hear any conservative farmer say, "Damn, would Del Monte just take over my farm, Tyson take over my chickens and McCormick to take over my herbs and spices."

I've yet to hear any conservative small business owner say, "Damn, I keep waiting for that huge corporation to take over my business and all of the assets in it."

I don't know any Christian that says, "I keep praying to Jesus, but that huge corporation just won't take charge of my church and all the property belonging to us."

Nor have I heard any conservative say, "Why, oh why can't some corporation take over my favorite fishing hole, river I canoe down, lake I water ski at (or mountain during ski season), or favorite hiking trails."

How do you go through life so ignorant? Seriously, I'd so love for you to come over and explain this to me, but I know you won't...not one of you. You don't have the guts.

"They eliminated the Fairness Doctrine,"
aka a doctrine geared around silencing conservative voices on the radio by forcing them to either devote as much airtime to liberal views as to conservative views or go off the air.
"then rich Republicans bought most of the media outlets and suppressed non-Republican viewpoints."
Um, ok. With the exception of Fox News, TV media is run by liberals. With the exception of NPR, talk radio is run by conservatives. I'd say we've reached a fair balance in that sense.
"They're working damn hard to keep Democrats from voting."
No, we're working damn hard to keep illegal immigrants, fake voters (i.e. dead people, pets), and others who are ineligible to vote from being able to vote. Dems oppose this, since they rely heavil on such dishonest and often illegal tactics.

And they're working damn hard to keep Republicans from voting, hence the current lawsuit in Ohio and lawsuits about military absentee ballots in every election since 2000.

The Fairness Doctrine does way more than that.  They would require equal time for all viewpoints.  So when a conservative said that regulations were creating a situation where it was impossible to do business, they would have to give time to the liberal that said the regulations don't effect the business, the progressive that argued the regulations were good, and the communist that argued business is evil in the first place.  It's overall effect is to create a highway with no posted speed limit that may be 75 one day and 35 the next day, with vigorous enforcement.

About a month or so ago some ass on DU posted a picture of some woman pointing a lever action rifle at the camera while on a gun range and the poster was bragging about how great they were with a gun and that they were just panting at  the chance to take on us RW's. So what was different about that guy doing the same thing other then the left getting all twisted around the axel over it. All we did here was either call them out or laugh at them on their ability to show us their ass and fling poo. Epic fail on their part but then again it's pretty much normal for them to do that.
