The bearfan family needs your help (DU scam???)
« on: September 13, 2010, 03:55:40 PM »
For the life of me, I don't recall hearing about this at the DUmp before.  Anyone in the "memory division" who remembers this?

About a year ago, our daughter was arrested and falsely accused of a felony by partisan Republican prosecutors in Williamson County, Tx. We hired a very competent attorney to ensure that her civil rights were protected and to ensure her right to a fair trial. We experienced many rescheduled court dates and bureaucratic red tape throughout this experience. Throughout the last year we have worked extra hours at our jobs, depleted our savings, and obtained a second mortgage on our home. We have expended all of our financial resources and desperately need more funding to continue our fight for her freedom. This is our last resort. We can win this fight with your help. Our daughter is a good person, wife, and mother. She deserves the right to legal representation. Would you please help us pay for her defense? You can donate here:

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contributions, time, and consideration.

11. The attorneys made it clear that we can't discuss
details since the case is still ongoing.

I can't believe DU actually gave him permission to ask for money.

It sounds vaguely familiar but there's nothing here on it.

I found the Williamson County judicial records site, and you have to have a case number OR a full name to do any kind of lookup.

Tried that too. Was looking for an attorney name since the link Bearscam posted had "martinezlegal" in it. Nada.

I thought that Martinez might be the DUmmy's name, or the daughter's name.

I thought the same.  However, I suspect there might be a few people with the surname "Martinez" in central Texas.  Plus we'd need a first name to do a search.  I'm not going through every possible combination.  :-)

If one can go back and look in the history of his DU Journal, that might have some info. I'm not seeing how one can see previous entries, however.

4. My dear bearfan454!
It is my great honor to be able to help you and your daughter in this crisis.

I just made a donation...

I truly hope that real justice will prevail, and that your daughter will be exonerated.

Wonder if the CalPig will ever mention how much she gave. Either way, I think she just got her money stolen.

Daycare owner arrest after being accused of lifting 2-year-old by her hair

By Miguel Liscano | Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 05:38 PM

Round Rock police have arrested a Round Rock home daycare owner who they say pulled a chunk of hair off of a 2-year-old girl’s head while caring for her.

Guadalupe Martinez, 59, has been charged with injury to a child, a state jail felony, punishable by up to two years in jail. She was being held in the Williamson County Jail on Tuesday with bail set at $50,000
.

Sure sounds like one of those types of cases where the defendant's family ALWAYS blames a malicious prosecutor, no?
