Right now my uncle is barricaded in his house and will probably not come out alive
 http://www.eagletribune.com/newhampshire/x233960232/Pel...

This is going on as we speak. I just got off the phone with my father who is at the scene. My uncle, who has been arrested several times, and has done this very thing once before, about a year ago is SEVERELY mentaly ill. He owns several guns which after all is said and done have been give back to him by the state of New Hampshire. The reason being YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO OWN A GUN IN THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

He has said that he will not come out this time alive, is walking around the house with a gun and aiming it out the window every once in a while. They have called in snipers.

He is trying to commit suicide by cop-- I am sitting here speechless. He is not someone I have ever been close to because his illness has made him a dangerous person to be around.

Those who know me, know I have my problems with my father, but right know my heart breaks right with him because this is his brother whose life is going to end most likely today, and my heart is with the police because they are doing everything in their power for this NOT to be the way it ends up.

THey have called in negotiators, but my uncle has shut off his phone. I have a really sick feeling about this, especlailly because if he gets out of this alive, he will be arrested and the system will have his guns back in his hands within a year, again.

So he's locked himself in his home over a warrant?  So what?  He isn't going any where.  He has no hostages.  He isn't harming anyone.  Leave him in there until he wears himself out and then shoot some tear gas in there or something.

Why so dramatic?

An attention whore lookin' for DUmp cred over gun control! I guarandamnteeya, if he's been arrested before for this, they sure as hell ain't givin' his guns back! It's a felony to barricade yourself in against the cops and last I heard, felons are prohibited from owning guns!

Me thinks there's way more to this story than what this DUmbass is willing to tell! If it's even true! After all, "DUmmies lie, they lie all the time!" ( © franksolich 2006 )

It is amazing that rather than actually doing something to help in situations like this, DUmmies would rather run to their computer and tell everyone.

It's a lie. Remember DUmmy's lie. All the time. They lie.

He's making a point about mental illness and gun ownership. He needed a vehicle to do it.

These are the idiots that, when a family member has a heart attack, they'll call 911 and immediately run to the PC to post it on DU. They're f'n insane. I didn't know that was a secret. Bunch of drama queens with no real-world life.

I totally agree, Tucker, sir.

It's a lie, and the primitive's just trying to make a point with a made-up fable.

A recent example, I think from about a year ago, was when the CalPig primitive's husband was having heart spasms or stomach gas or something, and CalPig dashed over to the computer to post on Skins's island that she was taking him to the emergency room.

She told all the primitives before she got him to the hospital.

Irrelevant.

I can embellish any incident and make it personal. Nothing proves that the DUmmy in question knows the suspect in the house.

He just claims he does.

The only thing remotely true in that story is that mental illness runs in a DUmmy's family.

I know of one such incident personally, from bein' a Bondsman. The guy didn't get his guns back, but they were given' to a family member. So it isn't a stretch he got his guns back, but if this is the case, someone is goin' to be in a heap 'o trouble if they gave them back to him after the fact! It's called Aiding and Abetting! If anyone gets hurt, they will most definitely be held accountable!

Jacking this thread for a sec, because this is a truly funny story, IMHO, at least in retrospect.  When I was a little girl, about two or three, my Mother was bitten by a spider.  We were stationed at Hunter AFB, GA, at the time.  Apparently Dad was too busy rushing the dead spider to the hospital to take Mom along.  He of course had killed the spider and wanted to ascertain that it was non-poisonous.  Thirty years later Mom was STILL ragging on him for that. :lmao:

Try right clickin' it and use the drop down menu that shows up. If it doesn't show up, copy and paste might be disabled on the page you're tryin' to copy from. You can generally copy the URL though.

Blep, we get that enough from our son, who is a Marine vet...not as impressive as all that because the powers that be medically discharged him.  He was two days out from finishing SOI when his DI caught him limping, he got sent to the doctors and the rest was history.
But, everything happens for a reason.  He met and married and divorced this girl, but at least he ended up with the sweetest baby ever.  Whom I happen to babysit two weeks out of every month.
:yahoo: :yahoo:He left yesterday for his momma's.  I am on hiatus. :-)

Well, his mama is active duty AF up in Phoenix and my son currently resides in our home.  The kid is only 2, and a holy terror of course, but the parents have divided him up into equal residences.
I put his cute little butt into morning preschool/daycare four days a week so I can do something other than tear my hair out. :p
One word of advice on potty training:  DON'T.  We tried everything with our oldest but the lazy little kid didn't care if she wallowed in wet or poopy diapers.  We gave up and right at age 3 she announced out of the blue she wanted to use a potty.
Problemo solved.  With our son we let him use a diaper until three and a half and he got tired of the wet diapers.  We DID have to keep an overnight diaper on him until age 5.

My grandson knows to the minute when he's gonna pee, he announces it, and then waits for me to change his diaper.  He pitches a fit if I don't hop to it.  I swear I am too old for this parenting shit.

She was doin' just fine until My Son in Law and daughter went to a Bow tournament down in Prineville! It was pretty much a campin' trip and the "facilities" were as you can expect in late fall. Well my super genius daughter informed her is was okay to go in her pull ups as there wasn't exactly a potty chair available, and it's been like that ever since!

How the hell I got saddled with it is a mystery worthy of Harry Potter! I'm too old for this shit!

Condolences, Allo, truly.
She ought to get tired of the wet and dirty diapers eventually though.
PM me if you want a sympathetic ear.  And bless you for taking care of your granddaughter.  Whenever I start feeling put upon, which is quite often, I remind myself of how blessed I am to be able to share in and help mold the young life of my grandchild.
Easier said than done, obviously.  He left here clutching the remnants of my busted up $100 MP3 player.  My husband marvelled at how he'd managed to jam together the plugs in the miniscule computer jack.

update on my uncle who has barricaded himself in his house and is threatening police and himself
Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 06:04 PM by Robyn66
Thank you all for your care and support. My poor father is just an exhausted mess at the scene right now. We all appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Its about 20hours now since the stand off began. They have broken every window in the house shooting in tear gas and he wont come out. He was running around yelling how he was going to kill anyone who came near the house and that he was not going to be taken alive. For a while he was on the phone but he turned off the phone. Then it got quite and they have been sitting for like 5 hours without anything going on. So now (I think its the State Police) are bringing in this Tank thing to bust down the door in hopes of bringing him in. THe police are doing everything they can not to hurt him.

The last time he did this he fell asleep and slept it off and went quietly once he woke up. I am hoping this is what happens now. But I don't know what will happen to him after he is arrested. He needs to be in a hospital, and he needs to NOT get his guns back. But every time this happens he is back on the street with his guns really fast. Maybe the big difference this time is he is going to be charged with criminal threatening of a police officer. But the fact still remains the man needs care at a hospital and I don't know if he will get it.

Alas, she died in 1998 and he followed in 2000.  They were inseparable except for his year in 'Nam. :bawl:
When I got divorced he confronted my soon to be ex with his rifle and threatened to blow his brains out. :-)  Did the same for my sister when her jackwad ex threatened HER except that time he used a pistol.

They hardly make men like Dad these days, except for rock ribbed conservatives.

I guess this is far, far from the original topic, but pretty sure someone should have fallen asleep by now.

All total joking aside, dummie wipes, I don't make light of true mental illnesses, unlike your own self inflicted assholishness, so I hope the poor man is safely taken into protective custody.

There's 45 of them, 1 of him.  I'm kinda guessing the cops are just sitting there, having coffee, waiting his dumb ass out.

And collecting a SHITLOAD of OT.

Probably the smartest thing to do, and the OT will help with the Christmas/holiday bills.

I'd rather they do that than be the ones to initiate moving toward him and lose even one officer.

From what I understand, the 45 are making a perimiter, closing some roads (since reopened), etc.  Occasionally, a team will move in, throw in a few flash-bangs and some tear gas, then back out.

Still nothing.

Right now my uncle is barricaded in his house and will probably not come out alive
 http://www.eagletribune.c...whampshire/x233960232/Pel...

It took approximately 280 words to let us know it is "speechless".
