Do they all write books? Geez all I saw in B&N over the weekend were conservative books - where the hell are the liberal books?

2. A 14 year old kid in a power suit and red tie
I just find that unbearably sad.

He'll likely have the coke habit to match by the time he's 21.

36. That would be an FBCEOA uniform--
Future Bank CEOs of America. Or, maybe a FHFMA (Future Hedge Fund Managers of America) or FDTA (Future Derivative Traders of America).

Sure, why not, if finance is where his interests take him.

13. conservatism is very 14 year oldish philosophy. it is highly appropriate that children
write this sort of book, as children lack nuance, empathy and the ability to appreciate the complexity of the universe that is uniquely suited to conservative philosophy. I am not saying all 14 years old lack these abilities, just that the majority do.

it is extremely appropriate that a 14 year old kid is defining conservatism.

61. In a couple of years, he will discover pot (if he already hasn't)...
an then become a libertarian. Then a few years later, when he has a full time job and realizes just how screwed he is with sky high premiums, he will become a liberal.

No DUmmie, he'll get a job and see how much tax he has to pay to cover all you deadbeats. He'll be a conservative.

Maybe 14 Year Old Smartass Jonathan Krohn went to public school...public school sure has made my 14 year old ultra-conservative and extremely-racist without me having to say a damn thing. The free lunches, the sense of entitlement, the "I got rights" attitude....sure makes a drug free youngster a liberals worst nightmare.

Hey liberals, your socialist school policies aren't a 100% effective.... :rotf:

OK so maybe they're 50% effective...then come to think of it, all of your socialist policies are only halfass at best.

Where is the love from the DUmmies for a precociously political waif.  Didn't they adore and idolize that little Demon that used to post spam the Island with links to his blog?

I just ordered his book and can't wait to read it.

Something like that.  The Chinless Wonder is a little old to be considered precocious, but they did give her more attention than she deserved.

More likely, in a couple of years, he'll be working after school saving his money for college and a car, if he hasn't started his own business by then.  He'll have a couple of DUmmies working for him, and will have to fire them because they'll show up for work about half the time, and then try to tell him how to run his business....

IF he gets a full time job working for someone else, he'll be an even bigger conservative when he realizes just how screwed he is with sky high taxes, and he will HATE liberals and liberalism....

I can't remember the name of the overbearing, obnoxious little Jewish prodigy snot from Milwaukee who was on here for a short while a year or two ago. Coach loved the little tyke. He had his own webpage where you could keep up with what he was thinking. He'd be a Twitter terror. It's killing me that I can't remember his name. Aaron something, I think.

If that were true, you and the libs would be in the 2 year oldish philosophy category.  All of you.

Lot of hatred in that thread for a 14 year old kid.  Primitives have issues beyond insanity.

Aren't DUmmies the ones always going on and on and on about how wise their liberal children are? How they correct teachers, schoolmates, their friends' parents, people in line at the grocery store, etc. I don't know about other parents here but mine were taught empathy at a very early age. Every Sunday when they put a portion of their money in the collection plate and we discussed what that money would be used for: missions that helped the world's poorest people, restocking the food pantry, Christmas baskets, or other things our church was doing.

To teach a child that there are others their own age a half a world away who need wells dug to have clean water that comes so easily from the faucet for them, that a bowl of rice may be all they eat and they're thankful for it and that there are people willing to leave the comforts here in America to teach them to read and teach their parents skills that will enable them to provide for their children, to bring medicine to families who have never seen a doctor, I'd say does a good job of teaching them about life's complexity.

I don't know if this person has been around a lot of 14 year olds, because while they can be incredibly challenging, they're also interesting young people. They're starting to  consider philosophical questions about why they're here and who they are, what they value. Heck some are even considering what sex they want to be and what sex they want to screw for the rest of their lives.  I believe that kind of deep thought requires at least some nuance. For a people who try to wear nuance like a merit badge, they sure do try to paint everyone with a broad brush.

Lioness doesn't get nuance or humor, at all.  She is one of the true believers in leftism and a political as much as a social lesbian.  One of my moles used yank her chain pretty hard.  Then he got banned......oh well.

My three year old has a political philosophy of gimme, gimme, gimme, which is of course the essence of liberal philosophy, but I'm sure he'll grow out of it.

I thought the DUmmies told us kids were off-limits.  Or was that only when a couple of worthless, jackass parents paraded their son in front of Congress to guilt everyone into paying for their medical bills when the dad could have bought his own insurance?

Had quite a conversation along this line with my 14 year old grandaughter this weekend. We were comparing tchnologies from when I was her age. Although I got into computers at an early age, it wasn't until I was damn near 30 before I owned one. I was an Apple II. Real POS compared to all the IBM clones I have had since.

I gave her, her first one when she was just 8. Now she has her own cell, an Ipod, and the best hot rod 'puter I could put together. She consistently gets mostly A's and B's every year. I am a little worried about the C+ she has in Math, since it was my best subject and I figured she would be my protege.

She can't believe how we managed without all the high tech toys kids have now. I think it goes a long way describing teens idea that "old people" are not as smart as they are. lol! After all how could we be without the "tools" available to them compared to just pen and paper.
