What happened to the "see new posts since your last visit" button at the top of the page. There was also a "see responses to your post" button that disappeared. Those two help me navigate this site more than most other options.
-
I miss those buttons too. I used them a lot when they were available.
-
Whoa. They're on mine. I'll check.

They are on mine. They are links, though, not buttons. I never noticed any buttons...

I think when they use "buttons," they're referring to "links."
<<<does that all the time, when asking questions in this computer forum, unwittingly substituting the more-accurate word for one slightly less accurate.
I thought perhaps I see them because I'm a moderator--the screen shows up differently according to one's position here, and was going to check to see what it looks like as a member.
Oooops, I have no member account so that I can see. Sorry.

Yes, they are links and not buttons. Please forgive me.
Thanks for checking. It's good to know that I'm not the only one that sees this.

We'll get it sorted out.
At the moment, Carl and franksolich are the highest-ranking people on the board, but neither of us are high-ranking enough to see if there's a problem, and to correct it.

They show up for me.

Mine are there, I couldn't live without them.

Perhaps, I am on super silly secret probation. :naughty: :-)

Last time I had a problem similar to this, I think it was Chris suggested I delete all My cookies and it worked.

I may try that. But it does it on my PC and my phone.

My "favorites" link is: conservativecave.com/index.php?action=unread
So I always get the unread ones when I click on it.

If you are using Chrome on both AND have logged on using your Google account then it will drag your problems across all devices.
Clear you cookies -- what could it hoit?

Do you by chance read all of them, no matter the topic and forum, or just some of them?
<<<as moderator, has to read all of them, so as to keep on top of things.

All of them no matter what forum. I like all the forums (fora?) so I just like to see wha's happening lately.
I don't care for the home page chat (which is why you have never seen me there) as I am a "store and forward" kinda guy...
:)
Just like I don't care for icon smilies. If emoticons were good enough for UUNet then, by God, they are good enough for everyone!

Well, I did end up spending a few hours making emergency server adjustments... And it could be why there were missing as I ended up taking up a great deal of resources that pulled entire sites down intermittently.
That is over, and a complete success as far as I can tell. Anyway, emptying browser cache, deleting cookies and logging out/in should fix any sort of page display anomalies anyone my be experiencing.

A thankless task.
Thank you!

I ran CCleaner which is set to clear out cookies and cache.
Still not there.

Try this --
Go into your profile, change the theme to something else, then change it back.
(Profile - Account Settings - Modify Profile - Look and Layout. - "Current Theme:" is the first item, change it to something else, see if the links appear, then change it back if you wish.

Thanks. I'll try it later when I have time. It's actually happening on 3 different platforms...phone and two laptops.

No problem - As for the spread of this issue, it could be Google Chrome (If you're using it) - If Chrome is setup to be linked to your Google account, it will spread a problem across all connected devices - not just bookmarks and favorite pages.
With that being said, you could also try popping open another browser and see if the issue persists that way too.

The issue persists on IE7 and FireFox.
-
Changed theme from default to Curves and they were still missing. Changed back and they were still missing.
-
It still continues.
-
The links are still missing. I find it difficult to stay in a thread with out them.
There must be some way that either I or a mod can reactivate them.

You don't see this next to your avatar at the top left of the home page?
-
I don't either. And I miss them too.

No.
I'm running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit, using Google Chrome and I use the SMF Default Theme - Curve.
I think everything is showing up for me.

It does the same on Google for FireFox, IE 7, and also on my phone. I doubt if it's related to my software or hardware since it happens on multiple computers.
