I don't have this problem, but then again I hate texting anyway. Won't engage unless I absolutely have to.

Same here.  My family ALSO texts me all the time and I respond between a week and month later. I just now acknowledged some cute Halloween texts.

Wow. For over 32 years I have worked at a job where I might be called at any hour of the day or night, holidays included. Granted the company tries to avoid holiday work unless it's voluntary and scheduled.

"Back in my day", the acceptable societal rules were one were able to call between 8 am and before 9 pm.  Otherwise it was violating norms and your dad or mom would ground your.

The rules started bending over the years, mostly due to technology.  Immature idiots feel compelled to constantly control or obsess over social media.  Don't think any of our folks are that OCD to do such a thing.

And to the subject of employers contacting you 24/7...that has always been the case if something completely critical happens.  Which is obviously rare.  Now the younger generation of employees will bow down to their fellow younger gen of employers to be expected to do minor tasks at 3 am.

Personally, would never work for anyone who was so Hitlerian in their management style, neither would or have I.

I do. Love it.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
