Today, I talked about four things that make America great: bourbon, good cigars, yoga pants, and bacon. Sue(njpines) had a great idea about pirates and politicians that I used- with attribution, of course   Thanks, baby!

I also got some mileage out of Michelle Obama going Godzilla on Japan. I said that when she tripped, the guy with his finger on the Godzilla alarm was halfway to sounding the warning. They were thisclose to evacuating the city!

Farts are never wrong. In fact, they increase the listenership, especially when they're loud and boisterous.  :-)

Thanks for listening! I have a lit of fun, and the money keeps me in cigars and ammo.

Jerry served up Ursula Andress as a nice surprise. After we went off-air, I reminded him that our audience is not made up exclusively of nursing home residents, but even men in nursing homes appreciate Ursula Andress.

Don't know yet. I fill in for Randy Picking, so if he takes a day off or gets sick, I'm on.

I am tempted to talk to the manager about syndicating a program on the 28 station group. http://www.eaglecom.net/radio/

DC Hannah made that show.
The tragedy is he was only kept on for 24 minutes.
Our own Big Dog is a good side kick in the best traditions of Ed Mcmahon.
But his talent goes far beyond sidekick.
He should be in the broadcast chair and have his own sidekick.
Every utterance was perfectly in time, and enhanced the listening (and watching) experience.
It was almost like listening to a concerto.

BD, I do have a suggestion concerning your mic skills -- don't get too close to it. That condenser mic you're speaking on looks (and sounds) like a good one. No need to get too close -- it works just fine. If you get too close, the engineer can't always adjust and it sounds muffled.

Jerry has good mic skills.

More modern-day versions of the Ursula Andress in Dr. No emerging from the ocean include Bo Derek in "10" and Halle Berry. Ursula's an icon, even today. If Jerry didn't know that, he needs more coffee. Tell him Euph said so.  :-)

They are trying to take away our Big Dog...

Quote
All of us of a certain age have stories like that …
where our car radios put us places we couldn’t go, taught us songs we’d never know and gave us a free view into the local culture and personality of every town we ever drove through.

AM/FM radios in our cars have created a culture all their own. From Rush Limbaugh to Diane Rehm, from Casey Kasem to Dr. Laura, it has created a legion of legends, a mountain of music, a diversity of experiences we’d never have enjoyed otherwise.

The car radio soon could be a thing of the past. Some developers, contrary to all evidence of consumer preference, want to supplant the traditional AM / FM car radio with various audio apps.
