Lady Freedom Returns (7,290 posts)

HA! I just got my first painting sale! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
And how it came about was ...

The lady contacted me via Facebook after she did some looking up of info. She found info that I posted about "Road of Life" here on DU, but she first heard about it... on a "conservative" web site!

That's right! She got her interest in my work from them bashing me!

I sent her the info for the studio, and was just called by the gallery to tell me it is sold and is getting shipped out tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to me!

No comments worth rowing over just yet.

3. You sold "Road of Life"? Congrats, but I would have bought that sucker!

I liked it a lot!

You still have pics of it, I hope...

Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, Skippy, you would've bought it.

She thinks this is some way to get your goat. Trouble is, who believes her about this any more than her other posts?

Perhaps, if it were true.  Either one of the jokers over here bought her "art", or Amber spun another tall tale.

Any minute now, I'm expecting her to make another post about Chief White Cloud.

Try to make heads or tails of her story of how the woman found the painting.  Then try to find the CC thread where we discussed it in the Google results.  Anywhere.

Sorry, Amber.  Try harder next time.

Even if it were true, Amber is only proving my point that we give her more exposure over here than she will ever get at the DUmp.

I don't remember any.  Had no idea the fruit loop even painted.

Yep, and exposure here would, doubtfully, lead anyone to searching her out to buy a K-Mart quality drywall hole hider.

An Amber painting would make a great gag gift for any CC get-together.

The only thing funnier might be the Holy Grail (at least to me), which is one of Omaha Steve's two campaign signs he put out.

I heard it was her ripped boyfriend, Whitecloud who bought it. He wants to use it as the cover of the new Harlequin biography of their homeless romance: Under the Bridge.

No, that's not it.  Skippy hasn't had any sense since he was teenager, before he fell under the spell of someone and got brainwashed; his mind and his opinions haven't been his own since then.

Skippy's the sort who always promises to do a good deed, but never does it.

But because he promised, that makes him feel good, feel morally superior.

You know the type, sir.

Interesting clue.  Some here do that professionally.  First suspects that come to mind are Big Dog and Tucker.

Battlehymn also offers another clue:  A gag gift for a CC get-together.  Who, as we speak, has stickied in the lounge, a thread about a baconfest meet-up?  Again:  Big Dog.

Also:  Who was the first one to accuse another caver, Gina, of the deed?  Again:  Big Dog.

Possible, but I would hope that BD doesn't tip his hand one way or another.

When paintings are that bad.....you're selling B.S.....not art.
