A ship of global warming climate change fools in ice in Antarctica in the summer there. stuck in ice not able to be reached by icebreaker ships,   wow.  our statist scientific community is so smart.  they keep saying come up with what could cause global warming and never look to the stars.   foolish people say it is carbon that warms the earth however c02 can be frozen.  it is a function of the surrounding ambient interstellar space which includes gamma rays from deep intersteller space and the sun.    I wish more scientists would look at the whole picture instead of karl marx's wet dream.

No link yet, but it is thought that the climate scientists that are trapped in the non-existent ice in Antarctica are going to have to be brought out by chopper.

The Shokalskiy, which has been trapped by non-existant ice since last tuesday cannot be reached by the three ice breakers that have been sent to rescue it.

The last resort, a helicopter airlift, is thought to be be to dangerous to attempt.

Rescuers in Antarctica have safely transferred all 52 passengers stranded on the ice-bound research vessel Akademik Shokalskiy.

The Australian rescue operators said the scientists and tourists were now all aboard the ship Aurora Australis.

They were flown there in groups by a helicopter from a Chinese ice-breaker.

The Shokalskiy has been trapped since 24 December. Its 22 crew are expected to remain on board to wait until the vessel becomes free. ...

It sounds like this has been an overblown rescue story.  The people weren't in any real danger since they could have dropped food if needed, and the ship has plenty of fuel.

On the upside 52 tourists have been removed via helicopter evac but on the downside (and there is always a downside right?) 22 crewmembers of the Akademik Shokalskiy will be staying on board until the ice breaks up of its own accord.

The ship is supposedly an ice breaker however, it is Russian made.  Ice shifts constantly and can exert tremendous pressure on a ships hull.  The ship could well be damaged beyond repair and sink during the next thaw.  Wise move getting most of the folks off during decent weather.

Given the Russian propensity for designing to a harsh-weather standard and their necessary familiarity with the requirements of a vessel designated as an ice breaker, I'd give some serious odds the the ship itself can take most whatever mother nature can dish out.  A slight shift in the surface currents (I'd imagine) and bada bing, bada boom the ship is motoring it's merry way through the pack once again.

My guess is that the glow bull whining nut cases elected to evacuate the ship mostly because their continued presence - and the continued news coverage it generated - posed a serious threat to the credibility of the fraud they've been trying to perpetrate for 20 years now.
