I like that idea.

I also like the idea of putting welfare recipients to work, earning their benefits on state-operated farms, forests, mines, and road crews. Take the taxpayers' money, swing the taxpayers' pick. The only exceptions would be those certified as permanent totally disabled for physical conditions. Mental health and substance abuse disabilities would not qualify for exemption.

Jobs Americans won't do? I don't think so.

It costs a lot of money to maintain federal, state, county and local government facilities.  I don't see any problems with welfare recipients doing work for them while collecting benefits.  Even if it's only on a part time basis. Of course the unions would pitch a fit over it.

Work doesnt hurt anyone. Laziness does.

"I have no education. Started working at my job for $4.46 hr, the same job I have today. Today I pay enough in just income taxes to support a family of 4. I heat with wood, I grow my own food including chicken and rabbits. I hunt and fish. I buy beef and pork from local farmers. So DUmmies I eat like a king and after hearing this pathetic story, if this tree hugging asshole were at my door starving I would kick it in the face! I almost can't wait till TSHTF!"

You mean you skipped out on the liberal beatdown that poses as education. You are obviously intelligent and educated in a real way, not to mention a whole lot more self sufficient than most of the DUmmies with 5-6 worthless degrees and tens of thousands in student loans they will never pay off, and who have no idea how to meet their own basic needs.

Hell most DUmmys don't know how to change a tire or where to put oil in. The government should force someone else to pay another person to do those types of things for the DUchebags.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Well, our new SNAP amount is $265.00. I am shaking. We aren't making it with his three jobs (and, yes, I have been trying to find employment) and the $400+ was hard to do with our family of four - and I cook from scratch, use coupons, shop sales, etc. I knew it would be decreased because my husband had a new job. I just didn't think by this much. I am in a full panic at the moment.

Guess what you stinking leech, family of three here, and we don't spend that much ($265) on food a month. I'll bet you weigh 400 lbs. Go die in a fire............................... :bird:

Steals it from her neighbor.....sells EBT groceries....drives 18 miles to the library....hell, where there's a DUmmie wanting something there's a way to get it without working or having to pay for it.

If healthcare will be rationed because you smoke, why not ration food stamps because you're overweight? It's plain to see they don't need so much food...right?

There's a hundred percent chance she's fat.  We're only the only country in the world, where the "poor" are obese.

You'd have to define 'physical'. Severely autistic people suffer from neurological problems but most are physically abled, but their communication and other neurological deficiencies make it nearly impossible for them to work in many cases unless it's very rote and ritualistic and even then...the attention span may be problematic and the supervision required as well. Plus, there are some physically disabled who are quite capable of adjusting to work in more mentally challenging roles that the aforementioned can't.

That said,  a little irony today when I went for my son's annual assessment for Mental and Developmental Disabilities. He is transitional(teen to adult) and there was so much talk that in our state it is 'work first'. Now, I don't disagree. My son would thrive in a situation with the regular routine that work could provide him, but first they must find something with his communication issues which are severe that would fit for him, but I feel confident they will. I just think work and an adult outing situation will be the best fit for him. Now that said, while they are pushing those severely developmentally disabled to work, the irony was not lost on me that many on social security disability OR welfare are not pushed in the same direction. In fact what apparently is a positive for one apparently is an insult for the other. This thought really distracted me for the rest of the meeting lol. I felt like saying if work is appropriate and encouraged for my autistic son who was born with his issues, then why isn't it appropriate and encouraged for those disabled into adulthood or on welfare?  :-) :whistling:

Uh oh..now wait a minute here.

I almost shared our local station talking about heating bills and the 'poor'...you should have seen the bellyaching after several people asked if those who could not pay their heating bill had phones and internet. When one said well you don't know these people aren't posting at the library---several came in and said usually the library's computers are awfully empty for that many cable-less destitute people to there posting within minutes of each others AND another said, well at least the libraries are heated.

I paid $75 a month for cable internet with a basic TV package (It had nine channels.  It was like living in the 80s again.)  I cancelled the cable and switched to a 4G hotspot that was about half the price.

Some company's go out of their way to hire the Autistic.   Darn I have worked with quite a few in the last 20 years in a factory and they, everyone of them were good workers.  Placed on an assembly line for 8 hours doing the same thing over and over, they thrived better then the workers that became board after 10 minutes.

Matter of fact they became so good at their jobs they increased production, come time for a small lay off they were kept and the others let go.

Those that were shy and anti social after a few months, some came somewhat out of their shell, most likely because they felt familiar with us and we included them in the Lunch time and breaks.   If one were to sit alone in the caff. we would 2-3 of us go sit with them talk just to each other and smile at them from time to time to let them know they were part of the click.

Most I noticed did not want to be touched but if we were joking about and one of us touched another's shoulder  and reached over to touch theirs they came to except it.  In one case one young girl responded with a hug.     Amazing, but she was a part of our click and it may have surprised herself.

Males were hard to draw out, but surprisingly  the male Asians with their sense of playfulness did them a world of good. They were the first to pat them on the back for a job well done and encourage them to play pranks on the American workers.

These kids worked 8 hours a day and all the overtime they could get.    At $9.00 PH some were making $30,000 a year.    Being Americans most of us turned down much overtime to just sleep in on a weekend.

Had we their work ethic we would have put ourselves in another tax bracket.  Lost money in the long run.

It is all a roll of the dice where one works, some other company may have harassed these kids, scared the crap out of them.

These autistic kids need a few old biddies to watch over them, help them in the adult world.   NOT enable their problem, just take them under their wing.

Actually, to be totally honest, none of those concepts really are understandable to him; he's a pretty severely autistic individual. Feelings are very abstract for an autistic individual.  For him it truly is this idea of going somewhere and staying busy and doing 'something'. Autistic people thrive on routine and the routine that work provides him or structured outings in addition are the primary reason for work in their situation. Now, the things is I have two normal children including a younger brother who I will be reminding if they get lazy that even their autistic brother can work everyday.  :whistling: :-)

you know for once, there is a lot of value in what you said here and I think you may actually have worked with autistic people with what you said. I can relate to some of the things you observed. I don't think you really can enable a problem though with autsies, but you can put them in a productive situation with supervision and have it be a wonderful thing because they both thrive on routine AND require so much less sleep then normal people that I can see just what you said about overtime. It does take the right company and people though. ONe of the sad things about their communication issues is that it opens autistic people up to abuse of all kidns because they can not communicate things that happen to them. I recall at one point there was a sick group of pervert homos online that in fact were targeting autistic males because they knew they could not tell.  :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: So that makes it a really huge responsibility to find the right situation with the right supervision.

I don't believe any of these stories.  The husband picked up a third job making 60 dollars a week?

What exactly is he doing? Mowing/shoveling the next door neighbor's house?

60 dollars a week, even at minimum wage, means he's only working an extra 10-12 hrs a week.

Maybe his wife should get off the internet, turn off Ellen, and supplement their income.

I have no sympathy for this worthless, lazy sleaze.  When our kids were little, my husband and I worked different shifts to enable one of us being home with the kids.  This meant that I pulled the night shift for YEARS to work while the kids slept.  As the DUmmies would say, "It sucked.", but by GOD… we paid our bills and didn't expect others to supplement our income.

As another CC member stated, "FOAD" you worthless toad.

It goes without saying that vestanumbers's employer hires the handicapped.
