what happened
« on: December 06, 2013, 06:34:17 PM »
Because of the self-imposed decline in the fortunes of Nebraska football, I hadn't been paying much attention to college football this season.

So after all these weeks of not paying attention, I was stunned to see how the season had turned out.

Tomorrow's conference championship games, the important ones:

Missouri (11-1) versus Auburn (11-1)

I thought Missouri wasn't going to add anything to the Southeastern Conference.

Never underrate Missouri.

Oklahoma (9-2) versus Oklahoma State (10-1)

I wish Oklahoma State would get over its "flash in the pan" stage and go back to normal.

Ohio State (12-0) versus Michigan State (11-1)

<<<always prefers Ohio State excepting when they play Nebraska.

Stanford (10-2) versus Arizona State (10-2)

It's good to see the two Oregons are over their own "flash in the pan" stages, and that football teams with history and tradition are on top again.

The Buckeyes have everything to lose and little to gain by beating the Spartans.
The rest of them assure themselves of a BCS bowl bid with a win.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

101 total. I wonder what the over under was. I bet the over won big.

Guess it will be Florida St. and Auburn in the BCS Championship.  Probably will be a good game.

Ohio State is always overrated as they were this year.  They haven't played a top 15 team in two years, how they were number 2 is beyond me.  Because they beat a bunch of shit teams by 56 points?  WoWZeRS!

Hate the Buckeyes almost as much as I hate the Alabama Toll Ride.

That Mason fellow was just 3 or 4 yards short of breaking a school rushing record set back in the 40's....I wish they had ran a couple of more plays for him. With a 17 point lead and seconds left to play, even if they screwed up, they would have still won.

Well, I guess I'll be cheering for Auburn in an Auburn-Florida State match-up.

Auburn has history and tradition; they've played football for a few years.

<<<always goes with the team with the most history and tradition; there's too many teams around who only very recently moved into prominence because of television hype.

Where I live, there are a lot of Clemson tiger fans and the ACC is the conference to be in to them. The wife got ridiculed a lot when U of SC went to the SEC....and it seems to have improved U of SC's playing of the game. They have beaten Clemson 5 years in a row. That is "THE GAME" in SC. Maybe USC will someday get to play a national championship game.
