Rep. Alan Grayson: Syria Intelligence Manipulated

Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., who is aggressively lobbying against a military strike on Syria, says the Obama administration has manipulated intelligence to push its case for U.S. involvement in the country's two-year civil war.

Grayson made the accusation in an interview published Wednesday by The Atlantic and offered more detail in a Thursday discussion with U.S. News. He says members of Congress are being given intelligence briefings without any evidence to support administration claims that Syrian leader Bashar Assad ordered the use of chemical weapons.

"The administration wants to flood the zone by excluding other information or points of view," he alleged. "I think that it is interesting that the administration consistently refers to Assad doing this and Assad doing that and Assad doing the other thing without giving the public any evidence to support the proposition that Assad has done anything."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

I can't stand that guy.  Allen West is also in the NO camp, and he has spent his life studying wars and war strategy.  He thinks there is no possible win-win for anybody in this effort, and quite possibly could start WWIII if Iran, Russia and Syria retaliate.

9/11 is only 5 days away.

I know.  A cold and frosty wind is blowing through Hell, seeing that Alan Grayson and Allen West are on the same side of an issue . . .:runaway: :bolt: :o

They now want Cherokee wigwam inhabitant Elizabeth Warren as their fearless leader. Anyone old enough to remember the Indian that came on at the end of the TV broadcast day back when we only had 4 channels? Hellz yeah, that was her great Uncle. What a great Cherokee-American.

Normally the Rats will back their own no matter what. But the freedom to rebel against Obama's enlightened leadership means 2014 is seriously in play.

O's wag the dog to rally the nation behind the Rats just before the elections has backfired big time. Calls to congress are 500 to 1 against the war. Professional politicians know the drill. They also know what happened in 2010. And now Australia just went conservative in a landslide.

The writing is on the wall.

Too busy to hunt it down, but there was some thread over on the island yesterday about this and the primitives were already dumping on the kook for getting some of his info from The Daily Caller. Alan's out of lock-step, and that's not allowed,

Goose step with the democrat party line or else.

He is a thug, the Commie equivalent of a brownshirt.  However, he is right that the Obamanuts keep blaming Assad as if he had personally given the order, with no evidence released of him actually giving direct orders.  Just for a little perspective, in the Cold War not so long ago, while our doctrine forswore 'First use' of chemical weapons, we did reserve the right to retaliate if they were used on us, Kerry's entire line about the use of them being 'Unthinkable' for the past hundred years is pretty much horseshit, what is really true is that nobody wanted to use them first, and that cherry was popped in Syria long ago.

Use of chemical weapons in defended urban areas was in fact a basic part of McArthur's plan for the invasion of Japan, had it not been rendered unnecessary by the A-Bomb.

Nor did our planned use of them in reprisal involve going all the way to the President, it was normally gamed as a decision authority that had been delegated to the theater commander.  There are very few still on active duty, or in our political leadership, who have any direct memory of how deadly earnest the NATO/Pact face-off was, and the thundering lout Kerry is no exception.

In the case of Syria, even taking it at face value that the regime attacked with VX, it is quite possible that Assad did not actually order the attack, but that a regional commander with the assets under his control did that.
