Hey, is that Hormel Corned Beef hash pretty good?  I have always wondered.  You know, never in my life have I had a fried egg on top of CBH.  Everybody else in the world has, I ought to try it.

The best CBH I ever ate was in Solvang.  A cute little Scandinavian themed town in CA. Theirs was like they took corned beef, cabbage, onion and potato leftovers, ground it up and added a bit of fresh bell pepper.  Then made patties with the mixture and fried them.

I like to chop raw potatoes and onions very tiny, fry until tender, add the leftover chopped up corned beef and sometimes throw in a little green pepper until heated through.  Serve with eggs and biscuits or toast.

Only tried canned beef hash once.  I couldn't get past the smell.  It smelled like cheap canned dog food.... bleh

I had no idea there were so many Spam aficiandoes here!  Can't stand the stuff myself.  I think my mom just fried slices and put it in sandwiches.  Not too often.

Not to shabby if ya cant make the hash yourself...I have eaten casesof it I suppose over the years of the CBH in a can but prefer the homemade now a days.

And every now and then

Also, I can state with certainty that when a horse see a moose they don't care if they are hitched to a hay rake they want to leave the area post haste. :o

This song must have been hijacked from them to the military, or vice versa, because the tune and some of the lyrics form the basis for an awesome quick time marching cadence.

WooHoo! Spam is the bestest!!!!  :-) SLW cringes if I even mention it...

When my parents traveled a lot in their RV they would buy the turkey spam that was healthier. It was easy to pack and keep on hand. Some places they stayed were not close to civilization.

Growing up about the only time I had Spam was at my grandparent's. My grandmother kept a few cans in the basement panty that was right next to the "canning kitchen." They lived several miles from any large grocery stores and had to stock up when they could. This was a town of 600 residents in which I also lived until I was six years old. I'm no city kid!

My grandparents also introduced me to hominy.

Hominy... :lmao:...as a kid I went with daddy on a trip way up north somewhere. We had been on the road for several days without grits for breakfast...oh how I wanted me some grits...I saw "grits" on the menu so I told daddy to order me some grits. He being more worldly than I said, "I don't think you wants those grits". ...oh how I wanted them grits....he said he would order them but I had to eat 'em when they came. Well, they brought me my plate and I couldn't find no grits on there anywhere. He pointed out these big white lumps out and said, "Those are grits. Told you you didn't want 'em. Now eat them."

I don't care for hominy grits. :lmao:

I don't eat the egg on top of mine either... everyone else in the family does.

I don't like the egg yolk in a fried egg, so I cut away all the white around it, and leave this big fat yellow blob of yuk on my plate. If I put the egg on top of the hash, the yolk may break.

Fried egg whites alone don't taste the same...  :(
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Or all of the above combined with vandalism and stealing remotes.
