BTW< You should have seen the collection of bedraggled college professor type misfits at the first few protests in Raleigh ....ugly, unkept, unwashed doesn't really describe them.

I live 20 minutes from where that took place. Take what the Asheville paper claimed and divide it by half. Maybe 2,500 people, tops. The grassy area where it was held is small. The only way to pack 10,000 people in there would be to cremate them first.

But give them time. By tomorrow, it'll be up to 1,000,000 that attended.

Western NC is a beautiful area, but it does attract the granola types. Fortunately, they tend to stay in their little corner of the area. If they tried to pull this junk in one of the nearby towns they would have been run out on a rail.

Much as it pains me to say this:  my in laws went down there to get arrested to prove some kind of point.  They got booked, fingerprinted, then set free.  If they had been forced to spend the night I doubt they'd be treating this so cavalierly.  It's embarrassing and they're are old enough to know better, but age apparently doesn't equate maturity.

All these people are doing is clogging up the court dockets and slowing down the system.  NC is in trouble financially, yet they demand more.  They never think beyond their own selfish desires and that includes my in laws.

Yeah, that's some of Asheville. But a lot of those who attended are from out of town, just like the ones in Raleigh. As is usual, it's the same malcontents that travel from event to event and want you to believe it's a whole other group of people. But chances are 50% and more are the same people recycled to the next event.

A lot of whacknuts will make the trip to Asheville because of the scenery, etc... Start having these events in the more remote towns in the Piedmont or 60 miles from the coast in tobacco and pig farm country, and they won't show up.

One of they guys from the Young Republicans went into the protest and asked the kooks to sign a petition saying they wish for education funding to be restored back to the level when Democrats ran the NC Congress rather than with the Republicans.

Thing is, by signing this petition they're saying they want education funding to be slashed by $600 million dollars. IOW, these idiots don't know what they're protesting or even the issues, they're just out there protesting because it makes them "feel good."
