Bomber transferred to Devens Federal Medical

Quote
The Boston Marathon bombing suspect is being held in a small cell with a steel door at a federal medical detention center about 40 miles outside the city, a federal official said Saturday.

Federal Medical Center Devens spokesman John Collauti described the conditions under which 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was being held in the Ayer facility after being moved there from a hospital Friday.

Tsarnaev was injured during a police chase Thursday in which his brother, also a suspect in the bombing, was fatally wounded.

Collauti said in a telephone interview that Tsarnaev is in secure housing where authorities can monitor him. His cell has a solid steel door with an observation window and a slot for passing food and medication.

I'm sure the victims of the bombing are relieved to have him out of Beth Israel hospital. I know I would be.

I served at Ft. Devens during the mid-to-late Seventies. It's a small post that ultimately the Army dumped as part of BRAC (even Teddy Kennedy, the alcoholic's alcoholic couldn't justify keeping it), but there is still plenty of history there. I left there in March 1979, but actually plan a little drive-through in early July. It'll be interesting.

I hope by that time the perp will be on death row, but that's probably a stretch.

^that.  Kind of ironic too, that he was in a hospital with the name Israel on it.

I've been thinking the same thing all along......and chuckling to myself. :-)
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
