They're trying to box him in.

ETA: Also I imagine if there are others, perhaps other members of his cell, the good guys want to catch everybody at once.

UPDATE (7:48 AM EDT): Eyewitness says now-dead suspect charged at police, was tackled in overnight gunfight. May have been attempting a suicide bombing, per CNN report of explosives on his person.

Boston proper has been added to the shelter in place order. I can't remember ever hearing anything like this for anything but weather ever.

The brothers came with their family into the US in either 2002 or 2003.

And that's how the MSM and the DUmmies will deflect any blame from 44.

UPDATE (8:20 AM EDT): Scanner: suspect at large reportedly wearing "suicide vest."

Scanner chatter I'm listening to right now sounds like they've got a suspect in a black hoodie they are approaching. One office just said for everyone to take cover NOT concealment. Another officer just said to approach the suspect with caution.

Guess it's coming down to endgame now, about 2 miles from my place. Cell phones are still on, or at least they were half an hour ago when I called my brother to make sure he was staying the hell put. Local Fox affiliate interviewed someone claiming to be the uncle of the bad guys, Uncle called these two "absolute losers."

There might be more family in the area, maybe sisters.

Thanks for the prayers Chitownchica! Looks like we're far enough out of the main danger zone and, in my neighborhood at least, people are staying in place and following the lockdown order.
