DOOM vs Call of Duty Map

Wow, how things have changed. DOOM maps are more complex than Call of Duty maps.

Loved playing DOOM even as "crude" as it was. Player-made maps were awesome too.
Same with Quake.

When I got Quake 4 I noticed it was not the old time explore & free style of game I loved. It came with the full version of Quake 2 and both Quake 2 expansion packs and I ended up playing those again and never finished Quake 4.

In a way it was like one of those rail games without the rail.
