I like it with or without thousand island dressing as long as its grilled and not soggy

1000 Island on a Reuben, it's the only thing I will eat with 1000 Island.

I do add spicy brown mustard after it's cooked on the corned beef side.

I also eat french fries with mustard.... honey mustard. Or mayonnaise. Or Ranch dressing. Never ketchup.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

1000 island is correct.

Mustard is fine on other things.

If you like a good brown mustard this is good, but hard to find. You can now find it in other states. I have tried others, nothing comes close. Some newer versions of brands are getting closer, but they still miss the mark.

Edit, they have a new website: http://www.boetjefoodsinc.com/about-boetjes/about/

The deviled eggs made with their mustard on their facebook page look really good!

My great uncle used to let the founder and his son hunt on his farm land many years ago. It started when my uncle was a little kid and then as he got older the other family members continued to visit the farm.

Substitute turkey for corned beef and dry cole slaw for sauerkraut  for something a little healthier. Don't knock it till ya try it.

It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Mustard is my preference too.  I'll even put it on leftover roast beef or turkey for sandwiches with cheese, of course.

I put mustard on spinach and other greens.

Our entire family likes Weber's Horseradish Mustard, made in Buffalo, NY. It goes great with Reubens and everything else

I order a case of it maybe twice a year. It's getting time to do that again; we're down to 2 jars of it now. We share the case lot with our kids.

I shan't apologize.  I like corned beef and mustard.  I like pastrami and mustard.  I like Swiss (and all kinds of) cheese and mustard.  I like just about all deli meats with mustard.

I don't like tuna and mustard.

Mustard belongs on hot dogs and brats.

That is all.

Oh, and it's a great emulsifier for salad dressings -- the homemade kind, of course.

No mustard in potato salad.

People who do that are certified nutcases.

Euph's Potato Salad:

5 lbs. of russets
2 leeks, cleaned and chopped
3-4 stalks of celery, cleaned and chopped
1 large green (bell) pepper, cleaned, seeded, and chopped
1/4 cup red wine vinegar, or to taste
2-3 cups of mayo, or to taste
1 cup fresh dill
Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Cook the potatoes in their jackets, gently. When fork tender, peel and slice into bite-sized pieces into a large bowl while hot, using a towel to keep from burning your widdle fingers.  ::)

WHILE THE POTATOES ARE STILL HOT, add the vegetables, vinegar, mayo, dill, seasonings.

Mix gently.

The mayo soaks up into the potatoes as they cool, leaving you with salad, not soupy, mayo-infested mess.

No mustard in that recipe.

At all.

THAT, my friends, is potato salad. Nothing else even comes close.

What do you put in it?

Potatoes
Boiled eggs
dill pickle
sweet onion
mayo and a little mustard (more mayo, a little mustard)
salt and pepper
a splash of cider vinegar
a little sprinkling of fresh dill and paprika on the top

Boiled eggs lead to vicious farts. And your pickles belong in spears and in accompanying a pastrami sandwich. Not in potato salad. Evah.

There will be no farting around my potato salad, vicious or otherwise.

That is all.

That's how I make mine too.  I'll even add sliced olives if I have them.

I make my macaroni salad pretty much the same way too.

Interesting about the flavor and ingredient differences in a highly contentious and individual food like potato salad.

French mirepoix contains onions, celery and carrots.

Cajun mirepoix contains onions, celery and GREEN PEPPER.

I love either good deli corned beef or pastrami on rye piled mile high with mustard. Found a place not half a mile away with genuine NYC deli versions -- absolutely wonderful! And they bake their own rye bread.

Mustard on brats and hot dogs and yeah, okay, on pastrami and corned beef.

Oh, and salad dressings as an emulsifier, and dear Lord, I forgot about bbq sauce.

That's as far as I'm going with that stuff.  :-)
