I've spent a few bucks in a Michael Alone, late at night.

I recognize two of those brands as store brands.  American Choice is sold at A&P and at K Mart, I think.  Great Value is  Walmart brand and some of their products are as good as the name brands, but about half the cost.

the marketing pukes for the Great Value artwork get an F for creativity. That's why the cost is low. Works for me.

We have the same problem at work.  We use a clear insulating varnish spray that comes in a can identical to a general purpose cleaner with the only difference being a colored strip at the bottom of the can.

Hey, I got Larry's chicken batter mix, and it was pretty good!  Had a nice color to it, too.

Walmart's Great Value store brand is just fine, and I haven't found an exception.  Does anybody like Crowley cottage cheese?  I know for a fact the Walmart brand is made in the exact same vat as Crowley.

Walmart's cottage cheese is the only one I like!!

I have tried Kroger's, Trader Joe's, Publix, along with Mayfield (local dairy) and I keep going back to Walmart's Great Value small curd.

I buy Great Value frozen vegetables, cashews (halves and pieces), shredded cheese, whipping cream and half and half, cream cheese when it's going into frosting, powdered, granulated white and brown sugars.

I'm really picky about groceries, and have found all of these to be satisfactory alternatives to name brands. (didn't that sound very Du'er snobby?  :lmao: )

Yup, pretty good stuff and it's at my local .99 Only store. They also have the cornbread mix. I might try it, but I like Jiffy.

Hamburger Helper?  Who needs hamburger to help it?  Tastes just fine as it is...

There have been days, in my "yute" when I did that.

Generic mac and cheese from Kroeger.  19 cents a box back in the day.

I love Hamburger Helper.  That stuff is great.

Too bad hamburger is so damn expensive.  Now, it's chicken or pork.
