Patrick missed her chance to win Daytona.
« on: February 24, 2013, 05:49:48 PM »
She ran well all day. I was pleased with the way she ran today. She had her chance to win at the end but blew it. She was running third but didn't pull out of line and go for it.

After the race she busted my bubble. She wanted to say it but bit her tongue and just wound up making a halfass hint of an excuse.....she was a girl and the boys wouldn't play with her.  She said she was afraid no one would go with her. She was on the outside riding in third place and well ahead of the inside line that was beginning their move to the front. All she had to do was pull down in front of that inside line and they would have pushed her ass to the front....might have stuck her in the wall when they got past Johnson but they would have pushed her to the front.

It was the last lap, everyone behind you wants to go to the front. At that point, they don't care if you're a girl or not if it'll get them closer to the front. You made a bad decision girl, deal with it......don't cry and try to blame it on the boys not playing fair.

I kept waiting for her to pull out too, or dive to the bottom as she put it.  She did say she hesitated because she was afraid of being "freight trained".  Is there anyway she can tell how fast the cars behind her in the bottom lane were traveling?

JR was behind her in forth place and I can't tell you what JR might have done .....but the announcer said that this is the forth year in a row that JR has come in second pushing the winner.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was wondering why she waited.

At one point I thought Jeff Gordon was trying to take her out by slowing down in front of her.....tapped bumpers.  :thatsright:

She seemed to give just a tiny bit of extra space between her and the car in front of her most of the day though....

I noticed that too, and the cars in the lower lane looked far enough back that she could have gone for it.  I was hoping for a real drag race at the end.

She did, but she got shellacked.  I was sort-of watching and she went from third to something like ninth place in less than a lap.

I know, and she needs some training re: teamwork.

9th place is pretty good when you consider how hard it is to drive while making a sanmich.

What kind of movie were you watching?   :panic:

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

she was 8th.

I thought she should have moved over when there were about 5 or 6 laps to go. She still had room at that point.

Also thought she slowed when the caution flag went out, which none of the guys did behind her, because they switched it out from caution to green right away. That was when she started dropping back.

Also thought she chose her words very carefully at the after interview in order to not sound like she was whining...
