There is a storm (now named) for the weekend. Please prepare if you live in the North East

You're probably reading a lot about it. The last one like this I remember was in the early 90's.

For all of our New England members and friends, good luck and take care, it may suck a bit Friday-Saturday.

4. Never drove there before, some say you run into bad weather in the VA & NC mountains sometimes. The forcast looks good so far though. I have had my fill of snow and overcast skies this year can't wait to feal warm sunshine.

10. We did it twice taking my daughter to Dizzyworld, 19 hours

that was in the 90's though, faster today if you have a good car and not a 18MPG Blazer LOL.

14. I will be driving my 2011 Cruze, it will get around 35 MPG. Staying 3 days at Cocoa beach*, a week at Fort Lauderdale, a week at Port Chorlotte and probably the rest around the Leesburg area.

Since Sandy didn't do the job last October, I'm really hoping this one does it, dumping eighty feet of snow atop the brain-damaged primitive, putting him out of his misery.

I should be safe, there's little chance I'll run into a DUmbass there.   :lmao:

Seriously, the brain-damaged primitive wants to die; he's tired of this world, which has been nothing but full of woes and afflictions for him.

About the only thing even vaguely human about him is that he has a daughter, probably in her 30s by now, whom he apparently loves very much (I don't think he loves his ex-wife any more).

But I'm sure she could get over it when he does depart this mortal coil.

We're supposed to get at least 9" out of the storm here.  Seeing that we've built up a fair amount of supplies over the last couple of years (for the inevitable unrest in the Age of Obama), I really don't have to get much.  I even went out and got cat food for Oreo last week, so she's set.  The Heiress is ready to play in the snow.  This should be fun!

Typical DUmmie, prepare for the bad weather the day before it strikes. Someone needs to flag Auntie Bush and see if she(?) posts over the weekend about being out of food and water.

I have one weeks worth of food and water. Two if I can stretch it. It did not take long to acquire or to maintain, just rotate new stock in as old is used.

I'm really heartbroken by the fact that DB doesn't have me on ignore on DU3.

He made a positive comment to one of my posts.

Look at the difference between BSS and DB.  DB is  :panic: ; BSS is  :yahoo:  my daughter gets to play in the snow!

If the pattern holds, we are expecting a foot.  We can deal with it.  Although, some folks around here like to get a little over-excited at the prospect.  Make it seem like a major disaster, and always with the bread and milk.  I know people who don't even like milk, they have to lay it in when a storm comes.  Tradition, I guess.

Storm my ass, we are becoming a society of Wimps.   Checking out photo's of the past when the snow in NE was to the top storeys of homes, photo's of the UP in Michigan when one winter the snow on the high way was plowed up 10 feet or more.

I have a photo from my grand mother that shows how roads were plowed back in the early 1900's

Looks like a steam roller being dragged behind horses.

Only time I worry is when an Ice storm comes in and shuts down power for weeks at a time. Those that live in the boonies are Shit out of luck then.

Thank goodness FEMA and other governmental agencies have repaired all the damage from Hurricane Sandy and the people in that area are safely back in their homes with all utilities working, otherwise the primitives would be complaining about this impending storm and how Dear Leader doesn't care.

Oh wait......

Hell, we've had 2 foot snows in S.C. and survived.....and we're supposed to be dumbass rednecks that can't drive in wet snow. Half the cars around here that you find in the ditches belong to Yankees or former yankees.

Not only that, Karin, but you're in the 'snow belt.'

Remember that the people who write these things are in cities where one flake of snow is enough to create deadly driving conditions (The Weather Channel is based in Atlanta, IIRC).
