What is wrong with serving sodomite rabbits? I say let them serve it to keep the bunny population down.

Check the dumpster, it may not be bunny! Could be road kill mystery meat.

The only recipe for rabbits I want to see is how to exterminate them.

Restaurant must be skipping step #3 in the recipe......pick the #4 shot out of the rabbit.

People are such babies.  You can't find a more prolific food source.
A female can reprodue as many as 800 children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren in a single breading season.

My mom used to cook them and tell me they were chicken.  I didn't know the difference until I was older.

"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I love rabbit!

I love horses also but I would not eat one knowingly.   DNA from horse meat found in ground beef  in England, what an uproar.   Meat was imported from Poland.

In the 60's a national dog food brand sold caned 100% horse meat, I bought it for my first dog.

The problem in Fla. with the pythons would be quickly solved if the Asians put the meat on the menu.   Round up some of the old time Asian cooks that have been here for only 15 years, and offer Free shipping to their restaurants, Catch is they have to come and get the snakes themselves.  They having done so in the old country would know how to find and spot them better then the rest of us.

I am surprised PETA is not protesting the wanton hunting and killing of these reptiles.

Now you got my curiosity up.    You are speaking of food but the pelt is valuable as are the paws for jewelery and charms.

EX MIL had a rabbit in the barn she said she was raising for a neighbor that ate rabbit, poor thing all alone in a small cage.

The bones also may be worth something for fertilizer when ground up. I wonder what the poop and urine have to give to growing crops ????

Sounds to me that the rabbit is the perfect survival food and source of clothing for man kind. Some kind of super animal put on earth to serve Mankind.

Rabbits are taboo in some cultures as some have restrictions on eating an animal with paws.  As in Lions, Tigers and Bears.---Oh My.

Now is the taste of the meat gamy, does one have to brine the meat to drain the blood ????

Never had rabbit and doubt that I ever will. My wife is highly allergic to rabbits; most likely the fur, but why take any chances.

I raise rabbits for food. I have 3 does and 1 buck. Each doe will produce 8-9 bunnies per litter and in 4 months they will be 7-8 lbs and ready for slaughter. But let me tell ya when you have that many fulls size rabbits at one time they are eating a LOT of food! I feed hay, pellets and greens that the local organic food stores trim from their produce. They also produce a lot of organic fertilizer! I just compost it with everything else in the bin and it works great. Now in the winter I just throw it on top of the snow in the garden. They are a PIA in the summer when it gets hot. I have to shade them and keep blocks of ice in their hutch or they will die! Cold is no problem for them.

Have you thought about setting up a swamp cooler?

The junkyard I go to set some up during the summer.  I guess they don't want their customers to die... it's bad for business.

Hey. If they can pay, I say serve anybody!
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.

God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

When EX MIL went on vacation she left me with a list of do and don't for the live stock.  The don't for the rabbit was to not feed her lettuce.  Wondering if this was a southern myth, or has a fact in the breed of the rabbit ????

Reading the Fox Fire series I came upon a guide to raising rabbits and when it came time to slaughter them a section on how to kill them fast.  Break their neck was advised.

You can't feed them a lot of greens. Just a little bit and lots of hay! Breaking their neck if for folks that don't have a Sheridan 22 cal pump pellet rifle!
