Yup, an invasion of rowdies! Now where's the beer?  :cheersmate:

I have a couple of cases each of Oatmeal Stout and Amber Ale.

Both of them I brewed and bottled.  What's everyone's favorite?

I like Sam Adams Boston Lager, but I'm not picky...I like anything that'll quench my thirst and give me a mellow buzz.  I'm easy to pleeze. Darn...a real cold one sounds good right now too.

Holy crap, we're being invaded!!

Nah, seriously--welcome, good sir.

First the invasion, then the secession.

It can be said of a certainty, we are all characters. Misfits, one and all. 'Course I keep looking for the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe, but alas ( and maybe an alack as well ) I ain't found her.

I'd say they broke the mold when they made her, as JFK can only attest.

Misfits, miscreants, ne'er-do-wells, methinks all y'all are welcome.

We do get the occasional troll, and had a spate of them over the holidays, but I think most 'em have gone back to Mommy's basement. But those ain't misfits or miscreants. They're cretins.

Don't feel lonesome, Eupher. I didn't know who he was either when first introduced to him. He will surprise you, in a good and bad way.

Welcome.... God Bless your grandsons, Shooter, and thank them for their service from those of us here at CC.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Thank you M'am. Haven't heard from Matthew since he left and has lost his cell phone until such time as he earns it back. Reagan won't go to boot until June after he graduates, so I figure I'll have a few opportunities to see him again before then.

When my son was in Navy Boot... he was allowed to call and let me know he had arrived. He was not allowed to use the phone again, until I overnighted his birthday cards 5 weeks later, and the FedEx envelope went to his Chief first. He was called into the Chief's office and told to open envelope while standing there. I had sent a bunch of cards, including from the cats and from a very sarcastic friend who included one that she put bright red lip(stick) prints all over the envelope. My son was mortified. However, the Chief told him to go call his mother, and thank her for giving birth to him! He was allowed 10 minutes and I loved every second of it!! He got periodic phone priviledges the next week. When I met the Chief at Boot Camp graduation, he mentioned the birthday cards.  :-)

I bet old Tac, another of out misfits could tell you plenty of stories. He is a retired Chief.

I would bet there is a world of difference in today's Navy and the Navy my Dad joined in '31. I know there is a world of difference in the Army that has taken place in the last 50 + years since I was in. I couldn't cut it now. Wouldn't pass the physical with my bad knee. In '58, though, it did not matter. A warm body was all that was required.
