Try roasting some broccoli or brussel sprouts they are very tasty. I drizzle then with some olive oil, salt and pepper.

Dried seaweed isn't bad!

I like Brussell sprouts with a little butter and Parmesan cheese.

Broccoli is one of my favorite vegetables. My favorite way to eat them is in Cheddar Ale Soup with ham.  :-)

I'm not a big fan of cheese soups or potato soups. Lentil soup or split pea & ham soup - yummy.

Don't tell GOBUCKS about this thread.  Full grown men with military avatars saying "yummy."  His head would explode.   :lmao:

Yuck on the beets.  If I walk past a can of them in the store, I shudder.

Seaweed is not bad at all, really.  It's tasteless.  You ever see the bits of spinach in Italian Wedding Soup?  You could sub seaweed (if you really wanted to consume it for health).

People make a big to-do about asparagus making your pee smell:  I think if you just flush afterwards, it shouldn't be a problem.  It doesn't "linger."  It is really good for you.

Maybe it always smells like asparagus, and you just don't realize it.  :-)

Not that I've given any thought to what your pee smells like, CR. That would be weird.

No mention of beet greens, or radish greens cooked not raw.  Fiddle heads in the spring and dandelion greens.

Have to be carefull with the greens some have allot of Vit.K and I am on a blood thinner. Poke salad in the south and some green they called Waldorf.  Pickled cucumber skin is great.

When I lived in Maine, I never did screw up the courage to try fiddleheads.  They look like something that lives in the dirt, rather than something that sprouted out of it.

Hey all you people that hate peas as much as I do.  I heard our Purchasing dept. bitch about what a terrible season peas are having.  Just so hard to find.    :cheersmate:

:hammer:  to all the pea people.  Look at Eupher, putting the  guy there as if we were talking about bacon or something.

My mom battled me for years.  Finally she gave up and let me make a salad instead.  When I had to eat them, I'd swallow them like pills.

Karin, I finally tried the fiddle heads and happy to say to me they taste close to asparagus.

I was raised on  pea soup with ham, sort of like a chowder, corn or clam. My favorite Peas are the defrosted raw peas in a cold Marconi salad.

Canned peas are OK once a year.   Wasn't until I  was 22 years old ,at a party and after a few drinks tried out marinated mushrooms. This led to my eating sober every kind of Shroom except the magic kind.

I find that when trying out a new food it does not hurt to be a bit smashed. Only exceptions are smoked Oysters or live ones, anchovies, EEL, or canned sardines.

I even learned sober to like Stinky fruit, now that is an experience.

Strangest fish I ever ate was Marlin steak.  Had the texture of beef steak.

I had a bad experience with eel in Japan. Never again.

Grilled marlin is good eatin'.

Cook them like tuna steaks. Make a red-hot bed of coals, brush oil on the steaks, sprinkle on some coarse sea salt and black pepper, sear the steaks on either side (rare in the middle), and serve with melted garlic butter.
