What about a restaurant gift certificate or something like it he can use to help buy supplies for his classroom? Often teachers appreciate the kind of support the most then a lot I smaller gift from parents. Just a thought.

Great idea!

As a male teacher myself...

Gift certififcates are awesome! One for amazon or a coffee place is great.

Thanks for the input. How many kids give you gifts at christmas time?  This is a special teacher who I think is awesome.

I have 100+ of these Egyptian glass ornaments in assorted styles/colors that I use on my biggest tree.  Picked up a bunch of the mercury ones at Hobby Lobby for one of the smaller trees.  They'll really look great in the new house....next year.

When I taught middle school, I got tons. Now I teach all boys high school , so the amount is less. Probably 10 kids a year.

Homey (that's me) don't set up no Christmas tree. If Mrs E wants to set up a tree, she ain't crippled.

Oh, and none of that Clark Griswold shit on the outside of my house, either.

OK, I'll play!  My sister in law is a FREAK about seasonal decorating.  She'll go out and clean everybody out at the clearance sales.  So at Thanksgiving, she asks if I could do anything with a bunch of 4' trees she got for a song.  She bought them, then realized she has skinny windowsills.  I do not.  So, I have a tree like this

in each window.  I went to Dollar stores and loaded up on cheap unbreakable ornaments, so the whole project cost very little, and it looks all stately and manor-esque.  Frikkin 1%er.  (Not really).   :-)

I put up a little over 1/4th of my Hallmark ornaments. I have a ton of cool ones, like the kiddie cars, old timey lunch boxes and more but I have a lot of ugly ones too. Back when I was really into buying them my mom and I would go after christmas and buy them 70% off so we weren't very choosy. I'm going to get rid of the crapy ones some day.

I made two huge batches of Chex mix today. I have one more to make. It's not your normal Chex mix. It's spicy and addictive. It takes two hours to make one batch. You have to mix it every 30 minutes. I'm giving it as gifts for teachers and neighbors.

These are jumbo bags.
