My thoughts:
Until the rinos are gone, the repubs will remain the minority. They want it that way. They have no guts and no desire to be leaders.
Screw them.
The country is most likely going to fail soon, and another civil war will happen. When it does, the country will split in two. Conservatives will rule one side, leftists the other. Within a few years, the leftist side will blow up.
The conservative side will prevail.
They're so afraid of losing the Independents' vote, but they end up losing the conservative vote.
But it's even simpler than that. The Republican establishment is simply and openly cowardly. They do not want to be leaders since it is so much easier to be a follower.
