The divinity of Barry Manilow
« on: August 28, 2012, 11:26:23 AM »
Did God write all songs and give them to man or did He create music and leave it to man to write songs?

BTW - raise your hand if you now have an earworm.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I have an old reel-to-reel, so I guess I have a tapeworm.

Be that as it may: what about the original inquiry?

Could your question be properly rephrased to: Did God create all the songs, or did he give us the ability to create them as a way of expressing our free will?

God is Music Everlasting.  Satan wrote most of the songs we hum here on earth.

I think that reverses the order of things.

Songs are not meant to express free will; free will allows us to express songs.

Misused music doesn't dampen our free will but poorly used free will makes for crappy music.

Beauty is the first order of your creation. You were meant for Beauty long before you ever had an inkling about what it meant to be Obedient.

Ugh.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Manilow didn't write it, Bruce Johnson from the Beach Boys did; and it made him a billionaire.

I like Manilow. You can all whip me now.  :-)

To err is human, to Manilow is divine.
