Greetings From Ohio!
« on: August 26, 2012, 05:25:02 PM »
Greetings from Ohio!

I used to haunt RedState, but they have changed the format in the last days, and seemingly (I could be unfair in writing this) they now do not want "amateurs" to write extended essays.

Here in the center of Ohio I can tell you that there is more enthusiasm for Romney/Ryan than for the supposed Republican who ran in 2008!  :-)  Sarah Palin was involved in that: I remember her!  O-)

The current resident of the White House I cannot mention unless under the names BIG BRObama or MAObama.

This seems like an excellent site: easy for writing and discussing!  RedState does have major politicians stopping by to post things (or, more likely, one of their staff), but I am not easily impressed...especially by politicians!

So I will read through here and see if I should comment or start a topic somewhere!   :greet:

Many thanks for the replies!

An influx from RedState is possible, since the people in charge there seem to have downgraded the participation of amateur writers.

It is to laugh. He is somewhat of a minor celebrity on here though.
Welcome to the forum, Ausonius. Glad to have you. May your stay be long and profitable.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Hi Ausonius!  I am originally from Ohio (Lima), but now live in northern New York.

Your avatar made me laugh.

I've never been able to warm up to RedState.  And I don't really much care for Erik Erikson.  He covers for Neal Boortz sometimes; I remember him just bitching up a storm over the crop of potential nominees.  I couldn't understand what his point was.  What does want me to do about it??

Anyway, welcome!  This site is a peck of fun.

My wife is originally  from Delphos!

I have had a fair number of people following my writings there, but right now an impression exists that the amateur authors are being relegated to the back room.  That could turn out to be an unfair impression, but certainly it is a suspicion with some evidence right now.

Many thanks to all the others for the response!

Welcome, Ausonius. I hope you enjoy it here - And I hope Ohio turns Red this year.

Note: I used to watch Duck Tales all the time ...  :-)

I refer to obama as 'Captain Zero'; and Joe Biden as 'Crazy Joe' ...

Why do you refer to Obama as 'Captain Zero' out of interest?

Because he has done 'Zero' to make things better than they were under Bush. He has, in fact, made them worse.  :-)

Many thanks!

I have not written as much as I would have liked, but perhaps I will have more time this week.

Ohio remains difficult for me to predict for November: my wife just finished working with a roomful of Kool-Aid besotted Obamaites.  On the other hand, I have seen more Romney signs so far this year than McLame signs in 2008.
