Freepers are now passing around information on voter suppression. That site should be shut down.

The full thread below here's the link if you want it.

Doesn't work. No matter what outrageous thing you claim in the name of Obama, for some reason, his followers say "Amen" after it.

Many decent and civilized people left freerepublic months ago, and went somewhere else.

Too bad for the primitives.

2. You tell me. I'm not an expert on US law but I assuming that voter suppression in the form of conveying false information about voting dates and locations is a crime and that counseling voter suppression call be classed as conspiracy.

If the strategy being advocated in that thread is free speech protected than this election in great danger of being flipped by widespread fraud using social media.

I'm just letting you know what the Freepers are up to since I lurk there to keep track of they're shenanigans.

Since so many decent and civilized people jumped ship months ago, probably the friar primitive should look elsewhere to see what we're up to.

Not here, but how about www.conservativeunderground.com, their "Best/Worst of DU" forum?

We don't want lurking primitives here.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to call people and tell them to vote on Wednesday.

What I'm not sure about is where to report it.

Ah well, one supposes it's still legal to call people and tell them to vote on Thursday, then.

7. I doubt one person joking on a message board equals voter supression.

Like a lot of message boards, people like to joke around. I doubt there are going to be thousands (or even one) calls telling people to vote on Wednesday.

9. I'm not so sure.

They're suggesting that people commit a crime and they posted a link on how to do it. At the very least they maybe should get a visit.

ridiculous to even think about reporting this to the FEC- which is where you'd report it.

3. the prepaid phone thing is out of date since the courts just ruled it's cool to track those without a warrant

10. That's good to know and the reason I posted this thread. Harper and his Tory version of US PACs robocalled Ontario voters in three close ridings encouraging them to vote the day after the election. They were caught and the case is still going through the courts and may lead to a few bi-elections. So this particular tactic is of interest to Canadians and Americans.

So there is a history of this.

That's evidence enough to determine this DUmpmonkey is DUmb enough to accept a ride to the polls on Wednesday.

Now, I'm not an ambulance-chaser, but I'm pretty sure this "voter suppression" the DUmpmonkeys squeal about all the time isn't in fact a crime.

You can't pass a law that makes it harder for the muslim's deadbeat supporters to vote than civilized people.
You can't threaten anyone to prevent them from voting.
You can't assault anyone or physically obstruct their way into the polls.

But I've never heard of a law against urging democrat deadbeats to vote on Wednesday, or offering rides to the polls on Thursday and don't believe there is one. In fact, I'd consider those things to be a public service.

Voter suppression can be illegal unless you are a black panther and there is a black attorney general. Then it's OK.

From a ntion of laws to a nation of men in under two years under the jug earred kenyan.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

As for shutting down FreeRepublic: Lets see. The DUmp is being monitored by the Secret Service because of the crap they say and do on there, but yet the DUmp wants to shut down FreeRepublic? Well, Scooter, if the DUmp hasn't been shut down yet, there is no way that FreeRepublic will be shut down. In fact, the DUmp will be gone long before FreeRepublic every will be.

Oh My God!  :lmao: :lmao:

I like the way the web interface has 'Call Tool' printed above the phone number of the person Obama wants you to solicit for free.

The question is -

A) Is the person you are phone soliciting the "Tool" ?

B) Are you the tool for making the call (Eg.  "Call, Tool.")

C) Both of the above.

D) Potato !

Uh huh.

And not only regards myself--I was small potatoes over there--but s-o-o-o-o-o many others too.

I still have fond feelings for freerepublic, and of course we're all indebted to freerepublic for having started it all, having been the first of the non-"mainstream" news media--and such a big one, too.

Even people who loathe freerepublic can't take that away from freerepublic.

It was the first, and grew to be the biggest.

For some reason there are many a times admin has had to clean up behind him.  He likes to imbibe I think, but when you got friends in high places you get what some might call "latitude".  LOL.   I have owned a particular coffee cup for thirty some years, and it is still my favorite one out of the dozens upon dozens I have.  It has a nice bright picture of a turkey acting a fool on it and below it in big bold letters "Don't let the turkeys get you down".   I just shake my head at the "turkeys".  They exist everywhere.

Nope--sorry.  FR jumped the shark years ago.

They killed it and grilled it then served shark fin soup.  I remember finding it off Drudge link before the first of what would be many flare-ups.  Anyone remember the 'woo hoo' publicity queen?  That place has had more close calls wit self immolation than I can remember.  Drudge (dropped the link), Lucianne, on and on.

And through it all JR keeps shaking the tree for more money while the service goes from warp to sub light speed.

I don't think JimRob is posting drunk, though it sure does sound like that.

I just think he's a nut, as are all his cheerleaders over there at what used to be a very good site.

He's attracting more and more nuts now, like flies.

I doubt his new stable of nuts have the means to support him the way the now-zotted decent and civilized people did in the past.
