The sparkling old dude just lit a campfire minutes ago, but this one by an obscure
lumpenunterprimitiven looks more promising:

Freepers are now passing around information on voter suppression. That site should be shut down.
The full thread below here's the link if you want it.

Doesn't work. No matter what outrageous thing you claim in the name of Obama, for some reason, his followers say "Amen" after it.
Me: Obama promises to take your car out of your driveway and put puppy in every in every freezer.
Them:Amen, Praise Obama

Many decent and civilized people left freerepublic months ago, and went somewhere else.
Too bad for the primitives.

1. Shut down by whom? On what pretext?

2. You tell me. I'm not an expert on US law but I assuming that voter suppression in the form of conveying false information about voting dates and locations is a crime and that counseling voter suppression call be classed as conspiracy.
If the strategy being advocated in that thread is free speech protected than this election in great danger of being flipped by widespread fraud using social media.
I'm just letting you know what the Freepers are up to since I lurk there to keep track of they're shenanigans.
Since so many decent and civilized people jumped ship months ago, probably the friar primitive should look elsewhere to see what we're up to.
Not here, but how about
www.conservativeunderground.com, their "Best/Worst of DU" forum?
We don't want lurking primitives here.

4. I'd love to believe that only the Freeps themselves would be stupid enough to not know that voting is always on tuesday.

5. uh, first you have to prove that they actually did more than make jokes and talk. That's fundamental. And yes, that is free speech protected by the constitution.

6. Conspiracy to commit vote suppression.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to call people and tell them to vote on Wednesday.
What I'm not sure about is where to report it.
Ah well, one supposes it's still legal to call people and tell them to vote on Thursday, then.

7. I doubt one person joking on a message board equals voter supression.
Like a lot of message boards, people like to joke around. I doubt there are going to be thousands (or even one) calls telling people to vote on Wednesday.

9. I'm not so sure.
They're suggesting that people commit a crime and they posted a link on how to do it. At the very least they maybe should get a visit.

8. good luck proving this is conspiracy
ridiculous to even think about reporting this to the FEC- which is where you'd report it.

3. the prepaid phone thing is out of date since the courts just ruled it's cool to track those without a warrant

10. That's good to know and the reason I posted this thread. Harper and his Tory version of US PACs robocalled Ontario voters in three close ridings encouraging them to vote the day after the election. They were caught and the case is still going through the courts and may lead to a few bi-elections. So this particular tactic is of interest to Canadians and Americans.

11. My mom got a call in 2004 from a republican offering her a ride to the polls on Wednesday.
So there is a history of this.
Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, that really happened, Anne. We believe you.
